WP Image Gallery Plugin

So I'm looking for an Image Gallery plugin for wordpress and I'm deciding between:

• A full-solution picture gallery where I host the pictures
• A plugin integrated with flickr or something similar

If I keep it on my site I could monetize traffic to the pictures whereas if they click through to flickr it could be wasted traffic. Then again, flickr would be carrying the data tranfser burden instead of my server.

Interested to hear how you might weight these pros/cons and if you have found a "go to" solution that you love and would recommend.

Host the pictures yourself, if it is important to you!

Think about it....if anything happens to the third party, you could loose a lot of work? (buyout of third-party provider, tech changes etc).

If it it is hosted with you.....you have full control. Just my 2 cents.

by the way, you can integrate Gallery into wp.

i have used this plugin alot NextGEN Gallery at alex.rabe

easy admin panle an tons of options.

have had no issues except an issue with a crapy paypal shopping cart plugin that messed with the gallery and loaded 2 pictures at once. got rid of that and all is good.

Another positive of using a Flickr plugin is that, if wordpress updates and my plugin becomes obsolete, it's pretty much gauranteed I could find another Flickr plugin and just trade out.

If i had an on-site solution and it didn't upgrade with wordpress and the creator didn't update or offer support.. i might have a lot of work ahead of me.
