I've never sold anything here on WF but thinking of starting to sell a 'niche' idea service. You might be a hell of a link builder but if your niche is something like insurance it's gonna be tough as hell, so niche research is a pretty good idea.

Unfortunately things like market samurai suck in terms of competition finding, they use queries like 'all in title' and the real competition is the number of links actual competitors have in top 10-20 not the number of domains containing that keyword in the title. Now there are tools like seomoz ($100+ monthly) which have more sophisticated tools for niche research but then again you need to inspect things like CPC of each keyword and the process is pretty painful till you find something with low competition & high CPC & high search (over 1000 with local .com exact let's say). And worst of all when you seem to have found something it usually turns out the keyword is navigational ;0

Would anyone be interested here in paying somewhere from $100-300 for one keyword which is informational/transactional, has high cpc, high search volume, low competition (and a list of related keywords which have the same difficulty/searches)? Would love to hear what you guys think...

I think there are a few sellers in BST that are providing similar kind of service for MFA adsense sites (Some of them actually build the site as well). This kind of service usually is in the $XX range instead of $XXX. I think the keywords are usually over 1000 exact too...

So, are you trying to provide a service that is like a upgrade for this?

nah.. it's going to be a typical case of

1) selling leads to unwanted niches, keeping the best for yourself dishing out the crap the others.
2) reselling the same idea to loads of people..
3) niche research is the crux of an internet marketers job, if you can't do niche research yourself, you suck.

Review copy please

I'd pay but you would also have to find every website in that niche and write a report on them, business models seen, etc

It's got to be scientific/analytical

Otherwise I know how to google

I would pay a 100 bucks depending on the quality of the niche and the research you provided, if you gave me some keywords and I could make my money back in a month (not counting site creation and linkbuilding) it would be worth it. You would just have to be providing quality niches and not reselling the same keywords to other people. +1 for a review

idunno, not sure if anyone would want to outsource the most personal and enjoyable part of IM..

The problem is that you'll never know the quality until it's too late. I've purchased a ky from a service before...it was quite a let down and waste of a c-note

I haven't found sellers that do this except one that is offering niche ideas but, as most members said, the keywords are navigational.

I don't like to scam people man, as you can see I'm not someone who said "HEY GUYS I HAS Z RLY GOOD IDEA THAT WIL BRINZ YOU MONEYZ!!!", lol.

Thanks for everyone who requested review copies, I really appreciate that, and you're right an analysis on the top 10 for example would be great.

This is a problem, there is no way for you guys to verify whether I'm giving different keywords to everyone or same. Damn it how do we solve this...any ideas?

The only people who buy niche ideas are people who don't really know how to select niches, what makes them good, and probably hasn't really even field tested or tried anything beyond being a forum jockey.

So, I'd say you can sell an idea for $100 in the same way you can sell ebooks to people with no experience.

Ideas for Startups

"Actually, startup ideas are not million dollar ideas, and here's an experiment you can try to prove it: just try to sell one. Nothing evolves faster than markets. The fact that there's no market for startup ideas suggests there's no demand. Which means, in the narrow sense of the word, that startup ideas are worthless."

Well, let me tell you, read my opening post again, this is not about ideas, this is about keywords that already have a decent number of searches and CPC, with low competition.

Again, my purpose is not selling keyword 'ideas', it's keywords that have a decent amount of searches and low competition.

If you can rank for those, you'll get traffic. And some of that traffic will click on ads/buy. It's inevitable.

This guy is talking about something totally else, he's talking about startups which usually start as innovative businesses (see Y Combinator portfolio). What I want to sell is nothing innovative. Rankings for keywords and making money off them is nothing innovative.

im not really that busy these days and would be willing to volunteer as a niche escrow service. everyone could forward the niches you sell them, and i would verify their uniqueness.

Keep a public list with the md5 hash of every keyword sold.

Example:

c822c1b63853ed273b89687ac505f9fa
241fe8af1e038118cd817048a65f803e
etc.

(google, yahoo)

Or just go with the honor system. I'm sure anyone buying at these prices will start work immediately and notice any brand new sites showing up.

May be i will buy the idea , but not with upfront payment , if the idea can help me make more money then i would pay the money for the idea , otherwise i would simply say it is flop
