The reason wordpress is such a great CMS is it's post & ping capabilities and it's feed. I can add 500 pages of content all set to launch on certain days and never have to touch that blog, I mean site, for the next year and it keeps launching content and every time it does it pings out to bring in traffic and links.

Amen brother, I just started using Wordpress alot maybe a month or so ago and just figured this stuff out. Its absolutely awsome, I meen I can literally set myself up for a month full of posts, set the time stamp on each and not have to worry about a fucking thing. I love it!

Ive got most of my WP sites set up with category/postname urls which seem to work pretty good, do you know of any way to auto ad post names into title tags for each post page? Or any other SEO musts for wordpress?

Your theme is very important. Try to make sure your theme is SEO friendly.

I use this to have all posts or pages have their name in the title tags

Title tags, H2 etc are all important.

I think Wordpress 2.1 will be even better..

If you take a look at the sales pages for:
the dowser
badderAdder

both of them are custom WP jobs.

stock WP installs obviously will not cut it until you tweak it.
though it's the same case, that you can't use a stock joomla install unless you spend time meddling with it too.

semilogic has optimized a set of WP templates and plugins so it's more usable.

i find WP easily to use than the other CMSs out there, and if you're doing a 10-20 page niche site, WP's easy tag and ping facilities, plus plugins make them a winner in my blog.

Having said that, there's a number of guys who have 100,000 page scraped auto blogs who do fairly decently. but the content is fairly unreadable IMO.

The new WordPress 2.1 now offers the ability to make a single post or page your home page so the need for the first plug-in is no longer needed. I'm really like 2.1!

This is one of my personal projects Ive been working on using Wordpress
MediaSwim.com, I wouldnt say that im using it as a full blown CMS, but close to it.

Im working on a new site and cant wait to piss around with 2.1, will be nice having an option to set a page as index right out of the box !!

yea, that index page option is great to have. You can also edit index.php in your theme to do whatever you want, just create a copy of the origional and name it category.php

I'm working on Know Anxiety right now and the main page is done that way. still a lot of designing left to do with it, but the core of the cms editing is done

The only thing thats frustrating me with wordpress 2.1 is when adding divs in pages, if I edit the page then save, all <div id="">'s are now <p id="">'s . .........

Im really starting to dislike the new WP release!!!! To many quirks, little things like the code issue above, and know fix xhtml is not checked....
