LiquidWeb is a great company, I've been with them for quite a while and have absolutely nothing negative to comment. But when it comes to the resources you're receiving, there are definitely quite a few hosts which represent better choices.
I'd recommend Servint (they've been around since like 1996), specifically their $89/month "Signature VPS" package (1.5 GB Guaranteed -3 GB Burst RAM). You'll receive a 5% discount if you prepay for 6 months and a 10% discount if you prepay for an entire year. Oh and use the coupon code WHTFALL for a 50% discount for the first month.
If you prepay for 6 months and use the coupon, you'll end up paying $77.5/month instead of $89. If you prepay for an entire year, you'll end up paying $76.76/month. I'd recommend prepaying for 6 months, you'll only save 9 bucks if you prepay for an entire year, not really worth it.
Before sending the $, always do a bit of research on WebHostingTalk. A lot of hosting packages (WiredTree and FutureHosting packages, for example) look great on paper but you'll end up facing downtime problems (WiredTree) or noticing that the performance of your server is not exactly impressive (FutureHosting, if I'm not mistaken).
Try finding a few negative LiquidWeb or Servint reviews, it's next to impossible. Try searching for negative FutureHosting or WiredTree reviews, on the other hand, and you'll find plenty. One more thing: always read the reviews carefully. A lot of people want to be polite when posting reviews, so they give the company a rating of 9 or 10 out of 10 when it comes to support but like 5 or 6 out of 10 when it comes to performance. If you come across a lot of reviews like these, it basically means that the company sucks.
