Why is the www being dropped?

I prefer the www in my domains, but whenever I set-up a blog in fantastico it always defaults to the www-less URL. Any ideas why?

well for me, i don't type www cos of laziness, maybe the programmers of fantastico couldn't be F'ed to write the same letter 3 times.

Well, you would think that it would default to the www version, but still work if people such as yourself typed it in without them. I mean it works if you type it in with the www. It just defaults to the other one, which kind of annoys me.
