Is it eBooks that teach "how to make monies online" or eBooks in general you guys think are a bad idea?

I hate the word eBook because it makes me think of a long paperback book full of content I don't need. I like specific, "how to" reports, straight to the point guides. The word "ebook" doesn't give me a warm fuzzy feeling, lol.

There is no inherent difference between paying for a paperback book vs. paying for an eBook. It just so happens that most eBooks do suck because there is no quality control in the digital world. Anyone and his dog can "publish" an eBook so naturally the quality will tend to be low. But if you can sift through the bullshit and find the legitimate eBooks sold by actual experts in their respective fields, then there's nothing wrong with eBooks.

I have come across some real gems.

Me too. I recently paid $32 for a "RecycleCondom - How to Reuse Condom Saving Up to $456/year". This information is nothing to be found and there are many REAL testimonials from guys effectively reusing their condoms in HIV driven Africa using this 1 weird technique.
