Why do all my PPC campaigns start out good then die?

This happens a lot and I have tested it A LOT. I have come down to the AD networks are giving away a freebie or two....to get you to push the offer even harder.

Everyone else's points are factors too...but it makes sense for the AD networks to do this in order to get more people pushing more traffic.

I've thought bout this, but didn't think they would really do it. Other people think they do this shit too?

If they do, it's working, because I usually test small and if it's profitable, I increase bids and spend quite a bit. More often than not, I get a shit load more traffic, but go from 4-5 to 0 conversions a day.

I think it's a possiblity, since I do the same. I'll start a campaign and all of a sudden get sales within the first day of starting the campaign. Start spending all my time expanding on keyword lists, raising bids, and what-not. Yet, it doesn't effect it any. Still get sales here and there, but it isn't anything like back-to-back 3 sales of a $120 in less than a day. That's just one example.

Only thing that's hard to understand about AD networks throwing sales at you, I record my conversions, so I know which keywords are converting to sales. I don't think it would be possible for them to go and search and place the order to your account, or whatever you're saying, etc..etc..

Something like this just happened with me yesterday. One of my campaigns on an affiliate network expried. All of a sudden I get a sale for $50 the same day from the NEW offer. Which has nothing to do with the keywords for the offer I'm promoting. Yet, the keyword tracking did record the keyword.

I do think they can give away sales like that. I'm on an affilate network and asked them to test my conversion tracking, they went in, and placed a test order, and gave me $21 for the sale. Even though it was a test sale. That's all for nothing, just for testing to see if my tracking was working.

Hmm, this is interesting. It seems like it happens to me a lot of campaigns, but there are some problems with it. If you can't convert an offer, them giving you a couple free conversions to get you going isn't going to change the fact that you can't figure out how to make that offer convert. If you had some motivation, you may work harder, but this would actually give you more problems because you would relax more if you think the offer is converting easily right out of the gate.

If it is happening, it's kind of fucked up- but then again, I can't complain because it usually gives me enough money to be able to run the offer for a week after my last conversion and still break even.
