Alright, so I'm back home in Chicago for the holidays and my girlfriend is coming for a few days to visit. Its her first time in Chicago and I've lived here pretty much all my life so its been a long time since I've done any of the touristy type activities. So with that said, when you took a vacation to Chicago, what activities did you enjoy the most?

Enjoy? I don't think enjoy is the right word.

Going up to the top of the Sears Tower was neat though. Millennium Park is worth a visit too.

Take her shopping down the magnificent mile.
Navy Pier ferris wheel.
Have lunch at Ed Debevic's
Take her to see Wicked (closing soon)

These are just a few. Navy Pier on New Year's is pretty sweet I've done that a few times

rent ferris bueller's day off - watch it, then do everything they do. cheesy.

well if you want to go to his house you'll have to come to san pedro! (it's like a mile from my house)

Chi-town , whuuut!

Not so "touristy," but improv olympic has a free show at 8pm on wednesday nights. It's pretty good. Get there by 7:15. Did i mention, it's FREE ???

hmmmmm what else is there to do here...
Wicked was cool. Jersey Boys was alright...

Go see the house where Home Alone was filmed? (Lincolnwood)

k, outta ideas....

Go to the hancock tower, they just finished remodeling the sky deck. Go to the ferris wheel at navy pier, skip the rest of the pier. Skip the planetarium and aquarium, not exciting. If she likes to shop hit michigan do water tower place (avoid food court) when you do hancock. There's a small pub a block west and maybe south of water tower on a north south street, very small. Go there and get an italian beef and a brew. Wander around downtown and tell her what stuff is. Take the architectural river cruise if it's running. The bean at millenium park is cool. Instead of debevics dicks last resort might be fun, depending on your taste. I always liked the science and industry museum, but field is very good. If it's february take her to the new car show. ;)

Get a weekend cta pass for 5 bucks, good for busses and L.

Uh walking around the "wrong neighborhood" with a bike cop following us, just in case. Hell we didn't know any better.

my favorite chitown activities are just shopping on michigan ave and hitting the bars on rush

a game at wrigley is fun but not an option... not sure the ferris wheel is going to be fun in this weather either. science & industry museum if that would interest her. if she likes clubs/nightlife and you want to avoid dancing get a few friends and go to MANOR CHICAGO -- had a blast there when i was in town for adtech
