Who Else is Getting REAL Tired of the US Gov't?

Yeah some of you would be better off on sean hannity or glen beck forums or some maybe even stormfront.

Ok lets say you make over $400k a year. The federal tax bracket you would fall under would be the highest one (35%). Now lets say you have some common sense and a good accountant since you are making what many would consider a good amount so you incorp in a 0% state income tax state. That is 35% and if you would do what many do who are wealthy and run businesses is go through every loop hole in the book you end up paying 20-25%. I don't agree with everything Obama is doing but it's your own damn fault if you are paying 50% in taxes.

Please tell me what state you live in where your taxes are 50%?

THIS

most business owners pay less (as a percentage) in taxes then their secretaries (who for example pay FICA on 100% of their salary, definitely unlike their boss). Obviously uber I don't know your situation but if you are paying 50%, your accountant isn't doing his job.

dude, you are an American, if you don't like it you can always GTFO... there are plenty of other countries that would like your dolars. Or you can vote Ron Paul (the only non-establishment politician).

* I'm an American living abroad.

I try to not pay attention to politics so im not 100% sure my views are correct, but..

Cash for clunkers is stepping over the line. Not only do I pay higher tax than low income people, now im buying their shitty cars from them. Oh, right after I just bought them all flat screen tv's with that POS stimulus check. Im going to be paying for their healthcare now too. And their drug addiction that they spend their welfare check on? I feal like they are stealing my money and giving it to people who choose to suck at life.

Yeah.. fuck this.

quoted for fucking truth

this is what pisses me off the most about the usa

fuck

Yeah but aren't you Americans subject to the same taxes even if you move abroad?

It really upsets me that perfectly good cars are being destroyed by the cash for clunkers program.

The other day I was in the grocery store and this woman in front of me complained about the cost of her groceries. Made a big scene in front of everyone. She then proceeded to pay for it with food stamps anyway. After that, she bought a case of beer and a carton of cigarettes with cash. Something is seriously wrong with this picture. A large majority of people living on government assistance are just abusing the system. Why does this country continue to reward lazyness? She can buy smokes and booze with cash but she needs taxpayers to buy her food? Come the fuck on.

If some guy is working a decent job and needs health insurance because he works for a company who doesn't provide benefits, he has to pay out the ass. Meanwhile, another guy who hasn't worked a job in years gets all his medical bills covered and never pays a cent. It makes absolutely no sense to me.

Good job, America.

Some of you are getting this shit twisted. People who use their stimulus check to buy drugs or go carjacking do not choose to suck at life; by this point they have no choice. People who get laid off have no choice in the matter, and they are not all going to have the necessary skills to find jobs before it gets to the point where they are dependent on assistance. Especially those who had been working at the same place for 20-30 years while the job market has completely changed. Go spend some time at the local rescue mission and you will see what I am saying.

Public assistance is rarely designed to be free money; it is the bureaucracy that goes along with it that created the problems you see today. They claim to help people get back on their feet, but we are at a situation now where they are more concerned with dotting i's and crossing t's than giving you any actual help because at the end of the day, that is how the govt agencies keep their funding and their jobs.

So then it just becomes about passing out money instead of providing the real resources and as a result, people become dependent. The system does not punish those who are successful and reward those who are lazy, it punishes those who are honest and rewards those who know how to play it.

If you are paying 50% taxes, it is because you choose to remain ignorant of the hundreds of things you can do to reduce your tax liability. If you want wealth, then it will cost you a little bit of integrity. That's why so many people here won't think twice about pushing rebills.

I'm not trying to stir up some shit here, I just think things look differently when you see them from both sides. The govt may be fucking things up big time, but that's kinda what they have been doing for the last 200+ years. The only difference now compared to the last couple decades is that it is being done in a more competent manner.

I also don't pay attention to politics, however I feel the exact same way.

I would personally like to thank you for paying for my son's medicaid funding thus far, without it, he probably would have died at the 1lb 13oz he was born at. By the time he was released from the hospital after 72 days in NICU the covered bill came to roughly a million and a half dollars, of which we paid around 60$ for our part.

Now if you actually find someone spending welfare or EBT fundage on smokes, alcohol, drugs, etc... I sincerely hope they get the shit kicked out of them, and then be forced to pay half their McD earnings back into the system (or whatever under-the-table job they managed while on welfare).

And the thing is, medical bills cause more personal bankrupcies than anything else. And that is totally fucked up. Its totally fucked up that any medical procedure costs 1.5 million dollars, no matter what they are or how long they take. Let me see here, $1.5 million / 72 days = $21k PER DAY... fuck that shit. That's almost $1,000.00 per hour, 24 hours per day, for two and a half months. Nothing should fucking cost that much. Especially not something determining whether or not someone lives.

Its totally fucked up that a lot of people lose everything they have worked for because they get sick and go bankrupt trying to pay the bills because maybe they couldnt get insurance because they were self employed and had a pre existing condition. I hate paying taxes too, but to me that shit is unacceptable.

So all of you govt run healthcare haters, at least do me this favor. Admit the current system is totally fucked and propose soemthing that will work better. The only reason we are talking about government run healthcare is because the majority of Americans believe the current system is totally fucked up (and they are right).

Tax increases. To over 50% for me, meaning I work for the government more than myself.

First, without those taxes there would have been no ARPANET so no Internet and you'd be doing something else. Possibly making less and thus paying less in taxes. 50% in the US is rather ridiculous, but I'd argue not in the way that you think. There are enough loopholes that if you are actually paying 50% of your income in taxes, then you're really doing something incredibly wrong.

Universal health care. I'll be forced onto a healthcare plan that will force me to pay my employee for healthcare, a plan that Obama refused to comment on when asked if he would subject his children to this coverage. Oh and congress get's their own seperate coverage.

Aside from the misleading arguments on the page you provided, do you really have more than 100 employees? Most small businesses under that size will probably be exempted from having to provide healthcare. Besides, there is no definite plan even outlined yet. There are 5 versions from the various Senate/House committees, and whatever makes it through will suffer a metric ton of ammendments.

Cash for clunkers. No link needed, this shit is retarded and is pointless spending.
Pointless spending? It's a direct economical stimulus in the hands of those who will need it most. It provides income to dealerships, who in turn support manufacturing and service employees, who in turn will spend that money back in the economy. Much better than providing it in tax breaks for the wealthy or injections into failing banks. It also gets a ton of polluting cars out of the market and greatly increases the overal fuel efficiency of the pool of cars in the country.

Punishing success and rewarding laziness. Without trying to sound like a bad person, I HATE the fact that my tax dollars go to people who don't work. Maybe the goverment could come up with programs where these people will get paid in exchange for some sort of duty, but giving people money for nothing is ABSURD. Every person has the opportunity to do whatever they want with themselves.

Oh come on. The US spends less than 4% of GDP on welfare programs. That's including state/local spending. And no, not everyone has those oportunities. Besides, the success you feel is getting punished is success most likely based on a larger than average usage of the commons.
