Where have all the people gone?

I also noticed people tend to get de-socalized, take this scenario for example.

P1: Hey how's it going?
P2: Read my Blog?
P1: Why? What's up.
P2: Just read it, it says.

I was just out with some people I know recently, and one of them was starting to tell me about this performance thing he had done. He started to tell the story and I say "I know". He looks at me, totally bewildered. "How?" he says?
(we hadn't talked since way before the event)

"I follow you on twitter"

Ha ha ha He stole his own thunder.

Really! Why post stuff on your feed if you dont expect people you know to read it?

i find most people in this industry fucking annoying to listen to. thank god for email.

That being said, if you're constantly talking to your friends online, WTF have you got left to say to them in person?

I'll use messenger to talk with the few people I actually spend time with AFK nowadays (less a computer issue, more of a mental break issue), but I don't bother reading their blogs, following their Twits, and I don't even have a facebook profile anymore, just advertising accounts.
I actually like being surprised by what my friends are going to say. I never want to have someone think it's appropriate to break bad news to me over a digital feed that I might actually miss. If you're going to say it, have the balls to say it to me.

I know a guy who's neice died, and he had no fucking clue because it was posted on fucking Facebook of all places and he didn't bother checking that day... so everyone in the family shuns him now because he missed the funeral. His parents got a phone call, he got a facebook status update... WTF?!

I don't pay attention to anybody's social network shit, because I can get the highlights in person. And if we never see each other in person, why care?

But when it comes to anything serious or business-related, I love email. I always feel like I'm wasting time when I travel anywhere that I don't absolutely have to. And I know this is my own personality glitch and nobody else's fault, but I'm always really reluctant for some reason to speak (actually speak) to anyone if I can't see their face. Which means I always put off picking up the phone even for simple stuff.

In a world where it’s easier to get a hold of your mortgage broker via Twitter instead of on the phone (Thanks @@@ADHUSTLER) one has to ask, is this the end of human civilization as we know it? What happened to human interaction? Will it now only be emails, Facebook messages and tweets? I miss a good solid hand shake or I’ll even settle for a phone call. But doing business with a faceless and voiceless person makes me feel inhuman. We are erasing the human factor of our species and turning into robots.I'm as guilty as anybody else but what can we do about it?

My Monday rant…

I think it's the opposite; it's the most human thing we can do. Our sense of purpose creates the need for us to always move forward. The things we do and the problems we have in our everyday lives today will be looked back upon as trivial by our future selves. Language will eventually develop new dimensions as the nature of our interactions with others will evolve into something that is today beyond our comprehension. We will probably always need others to survive, but the things we need them for will change.

Imagine the internet, but without computers.
