Where do you guys hire your VA's?

dammmnnnnnnn! Thanks Gertex!

On the best of days, HR is 25% of my job. When it comes to outsourcing I always say, hire 100, fire 99. rinse and repeat.

Going to give what you said above a go and see if we can improve that ratio.

Thanks again.

Nice blanket statement, it totally depends on what you've hired them for, what they are skilled with, and where they live.

For example, for Indian or PH data entry that is overpaying.

I was paid as VA years ago $8-10-12/hour for full-time, go figure. No programming, design etc. And still have jobs which I decline (cause of AM) for that rate.

OP, same reply to you.

I don't know man... Is it really? I hire very good, dedicated workers for around $600/month (minimum monthly salary is around $280 after tax here atm). How much do you pay your VA's?

I mostly use them for design/content/SEO purposes (build minisites, write articles, use bots and other tools, etc). I would not be willing to pay much more than ~$700 for a VA because at that point it gets cheaper AND easier to use reputable service providers and simply outsource all of the tasks.

Consider my point as from someone who is reputable service provider;):xmas-smiley-016:

Also I wasn't cheat, steal pwds, made BS excuses, was avaliable really over im, e-mail etc.

As you can see even by creating this and a lot more threads on forums about how hard is to find good VA my selling points were somewhat unique LOL

I always recruit staffs if i need a good VA work along with me ..If you need good VA then make a post explaining about your job and i am sure you get many good applications from many VA's.

a) Lets you see how familiar with American culture they are. While you think this question is no big deal, someone in India or PH with no background about American Football will have NO clue what you are talking about. This will also give you insight into their research capabilities. Will they send you just the starting qb info? Info for all qb's on the roster?

I don't even know wtf your talking about

Did OP answer his own question in a subtly racist manner?

Anyways-

I have a VA from India who manages my influx of emails, keeps financial records, and manages the back-end of my article writing team. I pay the guy ~$6 an hour and he does everything I need him to perfectly. Management is key- have a complete and thorough set of instructions and guidelines ready before you hire someone and explain to them step-by-step how you want things done. It's a pain in the ass at first, but in the long run you can gain a really cheap VA that's perfectly capable of data management with the right training. Outsourced != Incompetence.

When a VA with a solid reputation doesn't deliver, more often than not you just need to be more clear with them on what's expected.

Do you really think they will work full-time for that ? I've seen even tons of people from US doing like you say 3-4 hours for $5... it's probably one-time fun for them, no more.

I have seen fiverr members work 3-4 hours for $5. That's a cheap option to select a VA.

a) Who is the Quarterback for the St. Louis Rams and what is his current TD/INT ratio?

If you don't know what this means and can not find out, you are prolly not cut out to work as a VA for me... :)

Yeah I think it's something they'd do once or twice, very occasionally. That said though, I've hired some quality coders from fiverr before, one or two who I'm still hiring. I've never taken them up on the psd->xhtml coding, but I've hired people to do jquery elements on my site (tabs containing lead forms that can be totally contained in the tabs) that I'd estimate would have taken ~2 hours.
