I've been looking and found a few places but nothing major.. anyone got a good site where i can find high PR or old domains? (aside from the obvious top 10 in google).

try the domains section at DP, they usually have sellers that sell off their own sites aside from starting their own threads.

Personally, I think age is much more important than PR when choosing a domain to buy. If PR is a factor in your decision at least make sure it's not faked. That being said, any of the major players like Pool, NameJet, Sedo, etc... have aged domains available. I just pop the domain(s) into DnScoop or something similar to check up on their stats- I usually run them through a few tools to make sure. As an aside, I just downloaded Domain Samurai (It's free). Kinda a nifty little tool for domain research. Cheers!!

@IseemToBeAVerb - what tools do you use to check out the domains? I totally agree that age is more important than just PR.

What folks need to be careful of when buying aged domains is their history. No point in buying an old domain that's not in use becasue it got a seriously bad rep in the past.

And I just downloaded D/Samuarai too but not had chance to play with it yet. If its as good (eventually) as MS, it will be a great addition to the toolbox.

I don't really have a consistent method or set of tools for this, pretty much anything that can get me the info works. The only reason I mentioned it is because I think it's important to validate the information through multiple sources. Basically I just want to cover all my bases. Like you said, a lot of aged domains can end up on the market because someone was using them for nefarious purposes, so I want to know that I'm getting a good, clean domain. I'm looking to make sure the age is what they say it is (or to simply find out the age), the # and quality of backlinks, if the domain has been banned, etc... PR doesn't really factor into any of my decisions. If PR is there (and not faked) I consider it a bonus more than anything.
