Whats your why?

hmm - that is an issue isn't it.

It seems most of us would want to give money to our family if we start making lots - but instead of doing that I think I might want to empower them somehow to do the same thing as me.

I think giving money away is great, but more than likely it will turn into something like what kofiannan is experiencing...any thoughts?

It seems like the people who are doing this affiliate marketing game are all of a certain personality type.

I noticed that most of us have very similar personalities and senses of humor.

Also, a lot of you seem to have very creative minds.

So I'm wondering - whats your why?

What motivated you to get into affiliate marketing (besides the obvious fact that you can't stand working a normal job and hate having a boss).

Mine is filmmaking.

My goal is to make a feature length movie with profits from my affiliate marketing. Got into making money online in 2005 after I wrote a screenplay, and it's finally coming together thanks to profits from affiliate marketing.

what movtivated me to get into affiliate marketing?

- to provide a better and financially secure future for my daughter.

- pays for bills, big chunk of it goes into savings (see above)

Once that's been locked down, Affiliate marketing also pays for one of my passions, and that all things multimedia.

creating music, video, animations - some of the gear isnt cheap! ... ultimately I'd like to create and distribute my own music, my own videos that accompany the music...and use creative multimedia presentations to present the whole package... affiliate marketing would pay for the gear and any promotions to help market my creative juice.

xmcp123, I'd have to own up to snooping through their bank statements then (heh!), and as hinted at before I'm a coward when it comes to confrontation. Darbslim, imo it's definitely best to keep a low profile and just spot the odd few hundred now and then for loved ones in tight corners. People moan a lot about jobs/money/boring life but actually they would hate to give it up and do what we do.

I just do it for extra cash. I actually like having a job... I like the people I work for/with, I like what I do and it gives my day structure. Unfortunately I'm rarely self-disciplined enough to work when I don't absolutely have to. Plus, I've done the "home business - leave my home office once a month" deal, and while the money was good, the life wasn't. But the trick I have found is having a work/life balance. I get to work 5 minutes early and leave 5 minutes late. When I'm at work, I do my job. When I go home, I do my own thing. The only time I think about my work outside of the office is when I have to remind myself to go to bed or 5:30am is going to be extra painful.
