whats the best shared hosting?

ive been using asmallorange and they have been having alot of downtime latey, im getting sick of it. They have great customer support, but downtime is pissing me off.

So who has good customer support and not alot of downtime?
 


I use the most basic Dreamhost package and I run two forums with over 750,000 to 1,000,000 pageviews a day (each).

I also have a heavily trafficked Wordpress blog installed.

Unlimited bandwidth, unlimited storage.

Only theoretical limitation is CPU resources on the shared server, but my two active forums (notoriously harsh on CPU and concurrency) have had no problem.

I've heard good things about HostGator, but Dreamhost is cheaper and customer service rocks. I'll consider moving to a VPN when Dreamhost tells me I'm hogging too much shared resources. I called them two weeks ago, they pulled up my stats, and said that I have nothing to worry about. :)

+1 for Dreamhost.
 
A lot of people here have been using zensix since we launched. There's one "wicked4" coupon code left in the thread in my signature if you want to check us out.

If not, just ask Mike to move you to a different server. ASO has a bunch of crowded servers, but their newer ones are pretty stable.
 
This is just a personal experience, but MediaTemple has been near perfect for me since I started with them a year or so ago. Been using their Gridserver plan or whatever it's called, haven't seen any downtime, support is great if you actually can't find the answer in their knowledge-base, etc. Only thing I don't love is the upload speed, but it's still decent.
 
No problems with Site5 so far - I use their cpanel reseller hosting.
 
With the horrible support Bluehost offered me I started researching hosts, not just for the monthly price point but also for customer reviews of support and reliability. I have to say that after all the assistance I had with moving 10g of data between hosts, moving the domains, and mySQL databases, HostGator gets my vote hands down.

I got to agree, if I wasn't someone knowing in what I was doing I would never have go the proper cron going. There are some idiots there, but other times I have got good support. It's hit or miss.
 
^ Agreed. Other than that they're decent. Sharkspace is also quite good, I've used them for a while now - good customer service as well.
 
Odd - I haven't had any downtime since I signed up with asmallorange (according to moni.tor.us at least)

what server are you on? I'll have to watch my shit closer.
