on Windows I generally use Ultraedit. A good free alternative is PSPAd, which only lacks SFTP support.

currently I use dreamweaver 8 the most. however I've been using topstyle pro 3 a lot lately. I think it's a better program than DW8, it's just hard to get use to it at first - so I'm slowly learning to use it
