What happened

I thought this screenshot during the attack was rather funny.

That was crazy, I got WF to load when it first started happening and there were 4,000+ people viewing STS so it must have been pretty big. Happy everything is back to normal again.

I googled for "WF down?" and #1 result was Warrior forum where someone asked the question. Clicked link and got "thread deleted" lol

Glad it's fixed, was getting worried. Maybe next time (hope there is no next time) an update on the WF twitter or facebook pages to help us addicts out;).

I thought for sure Jon just felt it wasn't profitable enough anymore... ;)

Thanks Brandon and other defenders. -Any idea who hates WF enough to do all of that? A competitor? Mr. Hogan, perhaps? ;)

(I can't believe it would just be a banned newb... Parthenon's got the best reason so far...)

The feds to the rescue? You're seriously telling me that the FBI was worried enough about an Internet forum to get involved? Let alone, to get involved after only a few days? It normally takes them at *least* a week or two to launch an investigation into any type of ddos... and most times they will tell you to fuck off. Hmm...

They take it very seriously these days:

Operation: Bot Roast - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Thats not even the full list, its 15x bigger and when the arrests come its a full swat team busting in and taking shit over. None of this soft "we need to ask you some questions" stuff you see on law and order.

I've contacted them (with the help of different datacenters) several times over the years for large scale ddos attacks. Most of the time I get a generic email stating that an "investigation may be launched and thank you for the information". Only twice have I ever been contacted and only once has that contact ever lead to a "real" investigation (and that took like three weeks). I've never heard of the FBI reacting to a ddos (for a medium-sized forum / single website) in a day or two. I know a lot of people who work at datacenters, and like I said, it normally takes at *least* a week to get a response from the FBI when reporting a ddos.

maybe it was one of your competitors???? Afterall, thats where I went this past few days. Maybe that was their intentions, lol. Sites running slow, glad to see its up though. ill try back tomorrow
