What do you look for in a network?

Affiliates should be up front with their managers. If you don't want to get emails or IMs, say it right away and I think most AM will understand. Communication is key when creating a good partnership/relationship.

Weekly payments, a platform other than directtrack, offers I can't get at any other network.

I also prefer to be left alone by affiliate managers and to only talk to them when I want a payout bump or there is a problem. I consider "motivation" to be hustling. I like them to be on AIM but to not contact me unless I contact them first.

Seems most people don't feel that way. I usually go through 1-2 affiliate managers at a given network before I find one I can tolerate.

That is something I strongly agree with. An affiliate should tell their affiliate manager what type of communication frequency or topic they want to receive. Not all affiliates are the same. Some affiliates want an offer to be emailed to them on a daily basis, and have their AM say "Hello" as soon they log on. While another affiliate may hate receiving the offer updates, or receiving un-invited communication from their AM. Each person is different. Which is why it's the duty of the affiliate to initially express his or her preference.

I always say it upfront, and then I say it again when they contact me to "suggest" an offer. And then again when they make up a pretext to contact me and then subtly suggest another offer.

Eventually I get someone who I can work with, but I would not say most AM's understand. Most of them are terrible. There are very few good AM's.

HAHA- I guess you're right about that. Most of them do suck. I promise all my affiliates that if you tell me not to contact you I wont. One less person for me to contact makes my day easier!

So I've been reading a lot about networks going down and the affiliate managers not telling their affiliates to pause traffic. What the f*** is up with that? How could anybody expect to trust a network that knowingly will allow their affiliates to lose money?

Networks go down, this I know. But all AM's should be able to quickly tell their users to pause their traffic. COME ON GUYS! YOU GIVE THE REST OF US A BAD NAME.
