Have you ever had like a ultra-awesome idea, that you know is possible, but it's just out of your reach (money wise or whatever)? What do you do if you can't do it, but you know it'd work:

a) Forget about it

b) Bide your time

c) Just tell someone that could do it, so at least someone has success

d) Get a Partner

e) Other?

I write it down. Critique it. Find comparable models. Critique some more. Strip it into principles (ie., "ideas behind it") and post on boards for group discussions. Incorporate the critiques. Build a test script. Test. Test. Test.

Write it down, and gradually come back to it as I get more time. Quite a few times it'll end up being not worthwhile for a variety of reasons, but I have a few I'm still hoping to act on eventually.

I'll usually buy a domain for it, so that I'll have it when I'm ready (or able) to do something with the idea.

Addition: I'm thinking of getting a portable recorder since ideas hit me at all times, at all places. Not exactly groundbreaking ideas but ideas are great to record while they're still "warm" and vivid in your mind.

buying a domain is good because it might prompt you do do something. That said I have a few domains where I now cant see the idea working any which way
