What the hell, I'll join. Recently took some "before" pics for a natural supplement I'm beta testing.
Goal - Lose a touch of bodyfat, gain a touch of muscle, and get ready for my big 2 mile swim race August 1. If I place better than last year, it's a success for me.
Similar situation for me.. 2 Years ago I entered a 5k pump and run (you bench your bodyweight in lbs. as many times as you can before the race). each rep you complete (up to 30 reps) knocks off 15 seconds of your 5k race time; that way, little feathers who weigh nothing don't always win.. you need a balance of strength / endurance to win..
Well, 2 yrs ago I didn't even place.. I found out about it a week before the competition was held and I sucked...
Last year I knew about it and placed 2nd in my weight class..
This year? I don't know, it's 10 days from now (25th) and I plan on trying to take first place this time around.
Though I must admit, last year I didn't have a new born to deal with, so cutting down in weight and increasing my 5k race time hasn't been the top priority :/
Dude that sounds like my kind of 5k! What are your numbers for this right now?
I'm at 185lbs, could probably cut to 175lbs and bang out about low 20s in reps. My 5k is not too good though, 20 minutes if I trained for a month or so. I'm a water guy.
Last year I hit like 22 reps of 185 lbs.. 5k of 23:40 I think.
This year I prolly will have to hit 190 lbs (prolly around same reps) and 5k of around same time.
Hmm I've started body building so I'm thinking of joining..
But 2 months isn't really a lot to show any massive change, and because I'm bulking I'll look bigger but also more fat![]()
