WFCompetition #4 Starts Today.. Join up.

@emp - Great results you have there man! Curious... What did you do to achieve those results in that amount of time? Intake, cardio, lifting?

I've hit the weights since I was 18 (32 now) and hit the gym twice a day (cardio morning / lifting evening). Those are good results for sure man! A lot of discipline and staying focused I am sure! You probably feel a whole lot better, more energy, more drive, etc.

Brian

Hi Brian.

Intake -

Just food, no supplements. I also don't hit myself over the head when it comes to diet. I eat relatively clean, lots of vegetables and try to watch the sweets.

Workouts -

3 times a week I do bodyweight training with the TRX Fitnessanywhere.com |Home of TRX and Suspension Training, the original bodyweight training fitness tool, train with the best in class exercise equipment, fitness equipment - it looks like a gizmo, but sure is a very valid workout.

I also use sandbags from Ultimate Sandbag Training System by Henkin Fitness for some more sweat. I usually do this mixed with the TRX workout - trust me, the 30lbs sandbag is hardcore enough, been mixing the 60lbs one into it lately.

2 times a week cardio - I only have 30-40 minutes as I do this durign lunch hour, so I push myself intensely. This is on cardio machines at university, where I work. Being able to ogle 20something sporty chicks is a bonus.

2 light recovery days - 1 time a week stretching, and walking (one hour) one day only walking one hour (with my baby son in his stroller)

Work

During the workouts, I work like crazy. I know I don't look like it (yet), but I kick my own ass harder than anything. After 40 minutes, I am literally drenched in sweat.

For an extra boost, try one espresso, unsweetened shortly before cardio. You'll sweat like a pig. :food-smiley-010:

You might want to try putting the cardio into extra days.

And I did NOT win the competitions, just used them to motivate myself.

So go for it!!

I should have signed up for this last year, but didn't because this was a pretty personal thing for me this year and haven't really had success with buddy system/contest type stuff in the past . . It's all in my head.

That said, I lost 73 lbs in a little over 10 months - been holding steady the last 2 months (holidays and birthday in November).

I've got about another 20 to lose before I think I'm done and go into maintenance mode, whatever that means. Just think, I coulda had the sweet ipad just by participating.

Ah well, I'll post pics and join this quarter, looking to buff it out a bit and get myself in shape for the pool :)

Good luck to everyone!

seem like the competition is dead...i did drop 20 pounds though..will post pic later, hopefully can inspire some of you guy to live a healthier life

Competition seems to be dead (forum is spammed to hell and back).

Lost 4kg (8lbs), but fuck it, I did not get to exercise a lot.

Oh well - lessons learned:

- 3 months are a great planning / doing period for fitness , I will keep it up
- mix of body weight exercises (TRX) and cardio worked great

- I eat OK, but my coffeesugarmilkmilksugarsugar habit is a problem
