My bias is wellfounded. The self proclaimed liberal dumb ass in the video has no fucking clue how to govern this country. The short term (until we can find alternative fuel sources) solution is right in front of us. The congress is for what ever reason halting our progress in exploration and the building of refinerys. If I didn't know better; I would believe that congress was fucking us on purpose, for whatever reason. Liberals in congress and a few stray Republicans are placing the welfare of some polar bears over the welfare of our country. Our economy was built on and to work from cheap food and energy. Without them we are in serious trouble. Trouble that the country hasn't seen since the 1930s.

For starters the oil reserves in the north are very small.
Destroy the environment and put the whole world at risk just so a few people can get rich.

But u are correct, the gov't is fuking u over. Oil companies do not want an alternative energy source. Plain and simple.

If the US gov't did the same thing as the manhattan project etc for find an viable alternative energy source, a solution would be available in probably 2 years, for a fraction of what it costs for the war in iraq.

Or if the american tax payer finds that solution too costly, they could use a more stalanistic approach. Round up all available scientists, shove them in a gulag, round up scientist's family members, shove into another gulag, kill a few of scientists family members, then tell scientists unless they find a solution, they will be killed along with rest of family members.

It is amazing what can be accomplished when the right techniques and motivational methods are used.
