Want to be successful? Then actually work hard and finish projects

Amazing post there dchuk. This is one of the better 1000th post I have seen in recent times. It's motivational and direct to the point.

I was working until I stopped to check out WF and read this thread. Fuck I hate it when that happens.

Code:
I just purchased Reese's outsourcing course and now don't have to work.
LOL - I know what you mean, I purchased a similar course a few months back with all the spreadsheets, video training, etc... and haven't worked much since...right.

Time to get back into the work grove

dchuk great post. I took your long term strategy a couple steps further and thats why I'm getting into SEO as a career. From college degree + relevant internships to now interviewing with top interactive marketing firms/ large .com/ecommerce sites

Great post! I agree with you completely. Time and Project management is huge with people like us here. I find myself with my head in the clouds constantly. But when that happens I simply open up my black book (idea book) and jot down what is on my mind and the basics of the idea. Then I get back to the project(s) at hand. Later I will go and expand on the original idea in my book (usually during a flight or some down time). That way I don't have to cut off my constant feed of ideas coming in and can still stay focused at the same time. With my current idea book I know I'll be busy for many many years to come. Some will suck and some will succeed, but either way it'll be fun.

Another bit of advice, if you've been fucking around with something for a year and it's done, but not making money forget about it and try something else. You need to get a bunch of sites, campeigns, methods actually up and running, and then have them completely fail. Plan on it not working and don't wait for your site to make money.

I see a bunch of guys trying to dial in a site which has zero potential because he didn't do keyword research, his competition is insane, or there's just no search volume. You figure this out when you make 10-50 sites, not 1. A lot of shit just plain doesn't work, whether it's a method, keyword, niche, etc. Maybe it worked for someone at some point, but you gotta try a lot of stuff before something will click. Don't mistake this for trying a lot of stuff all at once. One at a time, but if it doesn't work, move on.

You wouldn't want to marry the first random girl you meet, so don't fail at the internets because you want to marry the first random idea you come up with.

That was the point of my earlier post here. The only problem is that if you wait for a year for your Priority #1 to fail, before starting anything else you will be in the world of hurt.

I do not think "finishing projects" vs. "working on many projects" is an either/or proposition. You have to develop processes and systems to start and finish many projects at the same time. Only then you will be collecting enough data and experience to find something that sticks. Plan your work, work your plan.
