They just added a new law that every offense, other than general speeding, gets a mandatory fine of $300 for three years. This includes failure to signal (ie not putting your blinker on).

This is ON TOP OF not being able to get radar detectors to find these sneaky cops (illegal).
 


Ya Virginia laws blow.

Just heard this on Elliot in the Morning today, that apparently people get off way to often for drunk driving even in cases when innocent people die.

So slack where they shouldn't be and overly strict with minor infringements...
 
Hah. Psh. Hardly! DUI is just as tough here as it is anywhere else.

VA cops tend to be complete ASSHOLES at times, too.
 
I think you may have missed what I was saying or I didn't explain well enough... Anyway my point is that there have been a good # of instances lately of people getting off for DUI's or getting some weak ass sentences...

But ya every experience I've had with VA cops have been horrible, they're always dicks.

Montgomery County on the other hand aren't too bad. I've gotten my share of tickets and pull-overs, and generally they've been pretty good, sometime even getting off ticket free.

But don't get me started on WV cops...
 
Hah. Fuck Montgomery County. Me and 2 friends went to Radford. We were coming back to VT and we got stopped at a sobriety checkpoint coming into campus at Tech. I was sitting in the backseat. Didnt say a word. Completely silent the whole time. The drivers fine, he was our DD, but they pulled the frontseat passenger and myself out, breathalized us, I was 17 (Im young, this was 2 years ago), and gave me a ticket for alcohol possession at .07.

In court, the cop was a dick, too. I turned 18 three weeks after the incident. 4 months later, in court, the cop huffed and sighed when the cop said hed sentence me as an adult and not a juvenile (meaning not take my license away for 6 months by not charging me as a juvenile).
 
It's easy peasy where I am. After teaching a class of cops, they go out of their way to help me. The cops are ok here, they're just tryin to earn money.

American cops, on the other hand, are dicks. The only reason why they are cops is because they want power. They are compensating for their small dicks with their power antics.

Only advice I can give is make sure your blinker fluid is topped up.
