Vinyl and TurnTables

I'm an old guy. So, I've been playing vinyl since 1961 when I got my first turntable. I still play vinyl and buy a lot of new stuff -- the last new vinyl I bought was MGMT's Congratulations and The Black Keys "Brothers." A large number of the new vinyl releases come either with a CD included or a digital download.

Currently, I have about 600 LPs and what you might consider an audiophile system. My turntable costs over $2,500, not some plastic junker.

I prefer vinyl records, but have 1800 CDs burned at full resolution to a Mac with 500 gig HD. I have it connected to a dedicated USB DAC (digital to analog converter). And I listen to both, digital files and vinyl records.

It's not about mixing and samples, it's about better sound.
