What is the best pack of codecs to use for viewing all types of encoded videos? My media player of choice is Windows Media Player. Thanks

I used to use the kazaa codecs, you can alse download the divx pack. But I haven't used Windows media player in a long time.

Dowloaded the player - sweet deal. So will I ever need to download codecs again or does this do the trick completely? 
get XP Codec Pack
basically XP Codec Pack includes all the codecs you need for any type of video (even real player, quicktime and flash) and it also comes with Windows Media Player Classic.
the Media player classic is nothing short of fucking great. I used VLC for about 2 years but Media Player Classic is a lot more user friendly. Changing the volume is as easy as scrolling up or down with the scroll wheel of your mouse. Also, VLC has a strange fast fowarding problem, Media Player doesnt.
Trust me.. from a person that used both for many years, get the codec pack and you'll be good.
