I know its possible, but can anyone point out any pitfalls I might run into by copying the Database from one Wordpress site to another? I have a couple sites up that are doing pretty well and I basically want to just duplicate everything from the established sites to a different site and different database.

Duplicate content issues dont worry me, I know I will manage to get get traffic to these duplicate sites and make money from them.

There is a couple of things to watch out for;

When you have the database backed up, via phpadmin or Wordpress DB backup plugin, and in text format it is important to leave out the two user tables wp_users & wp_usermeta. (the user password is encrypted in the wp_user section)

Then when transfering to fresh Wordpress installation use the edited DB text file in the PhpAdmin / SQL section to manually create the blog.

Technically, it is only necessary to remove the wp_users section but I found it better to do both.
:)

Have you considered rss syndication on your new sites rather than duplicating the DB. There are those who say you won't get hit with the dup content penalties in doing so. Basically you are just creating new entry portals to your existing sites that are doing well.

Thanks;

I dont know much about Mysql, but was pretty sure there was some data that I wouldnt want to duplicate. "Users, Users Meta"

Im going to give it a try, see what happens......

RSS might also be another option....
