i really appreciate posts/threads like this. as a newbie, its a process of "connect-the-dots" -- you start somewhere in terms of research, and little by little you find resources that either point you in the right direction or point you down the wrong path. i feel lucky to have come across this & followed it to cakes site.

i'm an expert in a few other disciplines & i know what its like to want to keep the garden from getting trampled (and thus keeping my mouth shut), so thank you, thank you, thank you. i will do my best to protect the garden.
