I dont have the sex tape...but Jesus loves you!

But now that you are here, might as well read my question.

My first step into affiliate marketing was with facebook ads. Felt it was an easy way in, simple ads to create and pay per click model. I'm losing a lot more than I am making but I dont blame the channel as much as what I chose to pitch. Actually, it isnt the Christian dating sites fault either...I just should have aimed for a higher payout. But thats another story.

Instead of running away while I still got cash in the account, I wanted to branch out. But my head is spinning from all the options and I aint too good at focusing. Thought you experts might have good advice.

What do you think a good next step would be. I have about ten years of marketing experience but am new to the affiliate space. I am leaning towards creating blogs as a channel to add my ad links onto. Any thoughts?

Or do you recommend creating a landing page?

The clocks ticking and I only have a few more weeks before my wife notices the bank statements. Any help would be appreciated.

Yeah that spinning's a bitch at first but exciting eh? Stay here long enough and you'll learn to love it for the joy that it brings. I'm sure there will be plenty of others that will help you with this.

How about a blog on a tupac sex tape? As you said you've already got a winning headline. If you can't find the tape you could just use one with you and the wife, I've heard these things are popular on the internet.
 
Yeah, I have to pace myself. Cant learn it all in a weekend.

But for my own tape...you might want to hold that thought until you see the wifey. She is big as a house and loves to dance!
 
from looking at this thread post post my guess would be you are making high ctr ads misleading people and getting low conversions...work on that
 
Actually, I dont care about the clicks. It doesnt make sense to generate weak leads when I am paying for them. I feel my copy is strong and relates to the actual link. It is just that my conversion is still in the 5% range, which isnt making me any money.

I'm just trying to see what other options there are other than going for the higher payout type ads like miracle creams or credit reports. Where would you put an ad that pays you $4 for every email submit?
