This is the dumbest shit you're going to hear. I'm so godamn pisssed off. I've been trying to figure out how to track my keyword converisons for weeks and can't get it work!

I'm on azoogle, and I'm running an offer, I don't have a landing page or website. All traffic goes directly to the merchant. I think this could be part of the problem. Although I want to be able to know which keyword is converting and then create a landing page/site based on the keyword(s).

I copy/pasted my Yahoo pixel and sent it to azoogle they placed it on the "thank you" page of the offer. My Yahoo account isn't showing conversions, even though I've received sales. Azoogle has confirmed there isn't a problem on their end. Yahoo says there isn't a problem on there end and that they need the source code of the thank you page, ofcourse for obvious reasons Azoogle can't provide that.

I bought affedit (software) to track keywords but it won't work unless you have a landing page/site. Had to get a refund. Bought Keyword Radar, and now going through the same problem. I think he's trying to figure out how to get around this, I doubt he's going to be able to, and this is starting to really piss me off. I've been going back and forth with my AM at azoogle for weeks, just to be able to figure out this damn problem. I don't like annoying people like that. I'm just so aggravated, how hard can it be to figure out how to track keywords. All you have to do is copy/paste a script code. What the fuck is going on?

If I try Google Analytics, to track keyword conversions the code has to be on the homepage doesn't it? If so, then all my traffic is going to get mixed up with other affiliates. I had Azoogle try Google's code briefly (on the thank you page), but I didn't see that it was working so I turned it off.

Im not sure of the syntax for Yahoo Search Marketing, but for Adwords theres a really simple fucking solution...

Are you pointing your destination URL directly to your Affiliate URL or a file on your site that redirects to your Affiliate URL?

If your pointing your destination URL directly to your Affiliate URL then just in the Destination URL box just add the following ONTO THE END OF THE AFFILIATE LINK:

Code:
?sub={KeyWord:Default}
This will use Adword's Dynamic Keyword Insertion to put the keyword used to get to your ad into the SubID - From there, you can track the SubID through your Stats panel in Azoogle.

If your pointing your Destination URL to a file on your server, then make a new file called index.php - In this PHP file put the following:

Code:
<?php
$kwGet = $_GET['kw'];
header("Location: http://x.azjmp.com/0mC7x?sub=".$kwGet);
?>
Once you have that shit done, go into Adwords, change the Destination URL on your Ads to the following:

Code:
http://yourdomain.com/index.php?kw={KeyWord:Default}
Thats assuming the index.php file you made is in the root of your site

Again, that uses Adwords DKI to pass the keyword used into your PHP file, which then does a redirect to your affiliate URL with the keyword going into the SubID field.

Need anymore help, gimme a hollar...

Note: This is a pretty simple and quick way to do it, there are other more secure ways including putting the keyword into a database and passing a unique number that is associated to that keyword back to Azoogle so your not showing them what keywords your using. Just a tip...

My link is directly to the merchant. I should've mentioned this, I know about the sub-id method. I made an excel sheet of sub-id's with codes so AM doesn't know which keywords are converting. Problem is my existing campaign has 10K+ keywords. I can't take the time to go through each keyword and edit the url for every keyword.

If I can't get this figured out this might be the only thing I have to do, I tried to create a macro to automate (that's the only way I can automate, don't know how to code), but it wouldn't work due to the internet connection speed being inconsistent. If I set it at very slow, it could probably work, but that would be a waste of time, who knows how long it would take with that many keywords, but that might be only option.

whoa whoa whoa...

What is preventing you from just editing the Destination URL in the Ad Copy?

Unless your trying to tell me you have a separate Ad Group for every keyword you should just be able to again, edit your Ads to put the DKI'ed keyword into the SubID field on the Destination URL...

Theres no editing of each keyword required, im not sure what your getting at...

oh ok, I see what you're saying about changing the destination url in the ad copy not keyword, so if I figure out the correct syntax as with google:
?sub={KeyWordefault}

then how does that effect the azoogle link? it automatically creates a sub-id? in my azoogle reports the keyword that converted will be displayed?

When I speak to Yahoo, what do I need ask to get the correct syntax/code?

Should I be worried about the keywords being shown to Azoogle? Everybody has advised against this, how complicated is it to setup that database you mentioned? I'm willing to purchase such a script, since this is really important to me and I can't believe how complicated it has been to accomplish such an important task.

Thanks for your help, I hope this works

Yep, the changes are to be made to your Ads, not your individual keywords...

For Google Adwords, just copy and paste this onto the end of your existing Azoogle URL in the Destination URL:

Code:
?sub={KeyWord:Default}
I just looked something up regarding Yahoo's Keyword Insertion and it looks to be in the same format as Google's - So just follow the instructions above...

Yea, it will show Azoogle your keywords...

If you want to get around that, you will have to use a PHP file on a site of yours that will grab the keyword, do the database interaction then use a PHP header redirect to redirect to the Affiliate URL with the keyword associated number tacked onto the SubID field...

I really hope this works, do you think I should be worried with keywords being shown to Azoogle? I would think as large as their company is they woudn't waste time ripping off customers, but you never know.

Let me just confirm if I have this correct, I don't want to mess this up.

If my destination link at Azoogle directly to the merchant is: http://x.xxxxx.com/xxxxx

change that (in the ad copy) to:

http://x.xxxxx.com/xxxxx?sub={keyword:default}

and that's the exact code except for the x's I put in to replace the actual url correct?

Yes, thats exactly it...

In regards to showing Azoogle your keywords...

Some people think its a big deal, others dont really seem to care. If you have the ability to cloak your keywords then sure, why not. Its just a matter of personal comfort...

Im sure someone will pipe up with there opinion

There's only three people I trust in this world, me, myself, well you get the idea.

Azoogle are great people, and I wouldn't think they'd steal profitable keywords, but they're also human.

Make a spreadsheet and asign a code or number to each keyword, then use the code as the sub ID.

That's what I do, I wouldn't think you'd have to worry too much about it, but better safe than sorry.

I can't use unique sub-id codes for every keyword. I have 10K keywords in a campaign, and I can't go through each one and edit the destination url, or this is what I would be doing.

Last question, should I confirm that keyword dynamic code with yahoo? I don't want to change my url and if it's the wrong code, lose traffic. I'm just not sure how to explain this to them.

Yea, if your worried about it, just ask Yahoo for the code to Dynamically Insert keywords into your ad. Anyone worth a damn should know what your talking about and give you the code...Otherwise, you can search the net, like I did to come up with that code...

Would it be complicated to set this up? I don't understand php so I'm not sure. As for keywords, can't azoogle find out what keywords are converting anyway since they have access to the website. All they have to do is add a tracking code.

Nah, its not hard, if you had the webspace I could set you up with the files I use to get this working...

What website does Azoogle have access to?

The system I am referring to, and you asked about setting up simply takes the keyword used to get to your site, puts it into a database, then, it grabs the numerical id for that keyword in the database and passes that along as the subid. So when you look at your SubID stats in Azoogle, you only see a number, that goes for Azoogle as well, they just see a number.

But obviously, that number references a specific keyword in the database, so essentially, once a conversion is made, you grab the number from your Azoogle control panel and find the keyword with that number....

Regarding this tracking technique,

How will I know which keyword actually converted to a sale? I can see which keyword they're getting to the website with. How do I know which one converted to a sale?

Well if you see the keywords then next to them you should see "clicks" and "leads"...

if leads is greater than 0 for that keyword than it made a sale.

Hello, first post ever here(where is that newbie alert...?) I'm following this conversation (slightly) and I have some questions. Well I have a bizillion, but I will spare you a few eyerolls. Let me start with I just got into all this 2 weeks ago (where is the virgin alert...?) I have a campaign on Adwords and a landing page(first website I have ever done) I would like to track the Keyword conversation as well. Does everything you said above apply to me? Let me also say that my landing page is lame (not the content, the actual webhoster) because it's free. (I think I just heard all the collective gasps out there) So there are no frills but I wasn't going to pay for anything until I figured out if I could do all this. ANYWAY I was trying to figure out if I could do the keyword tracking a few days ago and thought that it couldn't be done with my cheapo(freeo) site. Is there something I'm missing? Oh and to be a little more clear my destination url on my ad goes to my landing page (i think it's an index) which then offers a link to clickbank. (I'm cringing as I write this because I know it's soooooo green)
