Top 20 Most expensive keywords per Google

Whatever happened to mesothelioma?

For the longest time I couldn't figure out why that keyword is worth so much. After a bit of research, I learned it's a type of tumor you can get from working around asbestos. Lots of people may be exposed to asbestos tiles inadvertently, because ceiling tiles predating the 1980s often had asbestos in them. You need a professional service costing thousands to get them off the walls safely. If you take them down yourself, you could get sick. Oops!

All this means mesothelioma must be a lucrative keyword for greedy, ambulance-chasing lawyers.

Yeah, I'm guessing you're not in the USA or don't watch much tv or listen to radio. Lawyer ads for it are still all over the place and have been for years.

I would love to see how those stats compare to 2002

I'm curious to see from back then as well, but that's almost 10 years. Over the past 5 years though you would be surprised to see much change at all. A few shifts in order placement here or there with obviously some new ones. Curious what the biggest shift is :batman:

You guys actually missed the most expensive keyword at around $102 CPC...

Careful what you talk about in public, I don't want anymore competition for the "celebrity fleshlight orifices" keyword than I already have. Betty White anus anyone?

Let's say you get a click for a keyword that is valued at $100. How much do you get for being so lucky? I read someplace that Google pockets most of the money, and you get a few bucks.

Publisher get's a 68% cut on content.
The AdSense revenue share - Inside AdSense

"We pay our AdSense for search partners a 51% revenue share..."
"AdSense for content publishers, who make up the vast majority of our AdSense publishers, earn a 68% revenue share worldwide."

This is actually better than I thought. I was reading a blog that said Google keeps 75% or more of the value of the click. Don't believe everything you read. :jester:

well, it also takes in account it's CTR, theme in case of content, relevance etc. If it will be full 100, they claim like 68 or so will be yours.

I don't think there are any keywords valued at $100 on the content network. On the "search" side maybe, but the content is a lot less because the user did not make that specific query, so they are less likely to convert.

For example, the keyword term "auto insurance price quotes" would cost you on average about $51.74 PER CLICK on search, but it would only cost around $2.11 on the content side. Thus, if you had adsense on a site that brought up those terms, you'd only get about 68% of the $2.11 -- not the $51.74

This is a huge mistake that noobs make when they look at these fantasy high CPC keyword lists. You need to login to your Adwords account and go to "Reporting and Tools" --> "Contextual Targeting Tool" to find the true costs and what you might receive if someone clicks that term.

If you find a keyword with a $100 CPC in the GAKT then that would be the cost of the click on the search network (Google). Adsense for search partners are those custom search boxes you can throw on your site that pays out 51% rather than 68% on a content page. Contents clicks are 28% cheaper than Google search clicks (making up for the conversion difference). So that $100 CPC would go down to a 68% cut to the publisher ($68) and then for being a content click take the 28% that should be ($49 for the $100 CPC). They should be paying pretty much just under 50%.

Hi all new here and 98 pound weakling amongst you...

Hi all,

First post, I basically have had a relatively sucessful business for years and ignored the potential of the internet not to mention the Social stuff.....but lately I've had a fire lit for making something happen for myself on the internet. I bought a bunch of domain names, I have started a site....just about two weeks ago on the latter.

My day job doesn't allow me to get content and my site is too weak at this early stage I'm too embarrased to show it to anyone. I'm still trying to get all the functionality going, I'm not selling anything there so its basically an idea that I thought of, and now seeing alot of competition in that arena that to be competitive with I'm going to have some serious game and a site with alot of bells and whistles...

I do have a big idea for natural supplements/health products, that is my backround and day job.

So, I humbly ask you pros here:

1. Am I allowed to put up videos of anyone's stuff as long as I cite the source? If not, is it a case by case basis?
2. I would like to let people come and post without the hassle (for them) of making them sign in...the pagelines (I think) platform won't let us do that, plus I can't do nearly what I want in my head. I want my site to be like a pinball machine, with all kinds of (literally) bells whistles, funny characters, and I want a bunch of different mods that will help with the content. Because in the arena I choose (humor) its tough out there.
3. How the hell am I going to make any money from a humor site? Although I must say there are multiple meanings for my site and that is a good thing, potentially.
4.Is this wordpress or page platform weak and limiting?
5. My biggest question, is the .mobi domain area worth pursuing, I would say from a laymans veiw it would be in theory it would because phones keep getting better....but what do you think?
6. Prizes, contests, what the hell can I offer with a limited budget? Cash? A picture of my dog? Damnit!
7. I would love to have a game connected with my site, or at least an app. I already bit on the taptalk.
Thanks in advance for your feedback.

PS No one can seem to get my logo right either for my site thats been a real headache..
