fucking haters... I founded 2 companies with 0 capital... and I still get sarcastic feedback... unfuckingbelievable. That's one of the reasons why I don't like this forum. You think if you got 3 campaigns that are making you few K a month you got a free ride to talk shit? Go fuck yourself.

To those who understood the problem: thanks for the feedback, at least now I know how to go about doing what I need to do. I hate working for others, but sometimes you just gotta do what you gotta do.

To sum it up:

YouTube - Nike Wheelchair Basketball 'No excuses' advert!

The Only Way To Change Your Reality Is To Face Your Reality

Thank you, go fuck yourself haters.

So....you're the CEO of Nike, or the black dude in the wheelchair? I don't get it.

From past experience, I would not recommend telling them you were self employed. I would just list yourself as an employee of the company you owned and have a friend listed as your manager for a job reference.

"It is better to have enough ideas for some of them to be wrong, than to be always right by having no ideas at all." and "My reputation grows with every failure."

So, fuck you.

Is everyone here THAT successful to talk shit? And if you are successful, look at your past failures. What if you had 10-20 failures in a row? Would you still talk shit? What if your failures took you to the brink of completely annihilating your self esteem?

I know if I was making 30k a month and sipping on my favorite drink I'd probably think: "What is this fool talking about". But what if everything was taken away from you, would you still have that fake confidence?

I wish I was making 30k, but I'm not. Thanks for sarcastic remarks about being "fake CEO". I suppose working at Wendy's as a cashier deserves more respect.

Lol, this thread is pretty funny.

Josh, just chill out, everyone gets made fun of here, just ignore it or play along.

Put on your resume that you had a "small business" and list what you did. (Don't say you were the CEO of 2 companies. Your resume would probably go right in the trash if you said that because they wouldn't believe you. A CEO is the head of a company that has employees and a board of directors.) Say you have a high school education, say what programs you know how to use, list any other qualifications related to the job you are applying for.

If you write a cover letter, or during the interview, take an interest in the company. Let them know that you really like the company and that you want to help them. In other words, don't ask what they can do for you. Tell them what you can do for them.

I used to be in charge of customer service training/HR for a small-midsize company. Every now and then someone named Bob would bring in a resume that had "CEO" as their title for Bobs Landscaping or some bullshit like that.

...And, yes, I would snicker to myself and think "what a douche. This is bumfuck Washington, jackass!"

I'll punch your vagina Josh.

Amanda ( Bob ) :), what does this statement mean? BTY, Mr. Bou needs to do his roots.

Josh, I am sorry you are going through a rough time. Your resume would do well with a humble, yet hard working ring to it. I agree with some of the other folks that CEO might sound a bit high fa-loot'in ( even if you were listed as CEO on tax and legal forms). Say Owner/Operator and list your duties and accomplishments. Tell them you want to be part of a team now etc.... best of luck in your job search.

Honestly I would just say I worked for the company and if need be, have your friend be the real CEO to verify the info in case they want to check.

Employers that like entrepreneurs are very rare. They don't like to hire people who might take their idea or business model from them. Trust me on this one. When I ran my own business that had employees, I always liked to hire the working mom types. They work hard and aren't of the independent disposition where they think they can go out and be my new competition just after they learn the ropes from me.

If you go in there and say you ran your own business, they will either feel threatened for their company's proprietary information or if they are an employee themselves (like HR managers) they will think they were about to hire the next company hot shot who is going to take their job.

Either way, it won't help you much.

Time to get a job.

I have a problem though. I haven't had a job in years. I have 2 companies where I'm a CEO, but profits are limited and I need capital. I also need to eat and pay rent, so I must raise my revenues.

What the heck do I put on the resume? If I say I own 2 companies, is anyone going to hire me? I mean I can't just say I didn't have a job in years. I also got no college education.

What to do?

You're not a CEO, you're self employed. If you do actually have a corporate structure and you did have a few employees and its not only your name on all the paperwork, then give yourself a new, more realistic title (sales manager, territory manager, product manager, etc...)

On the other hand, if you are self employed then just put that on your resume, just expect lots of questions about why your business failed. Also, if both of those companies you have are currently running at the same time, dont list them concurrently on your resume. Have Company #1 followed by Company #2 with a small gap between.

If you have both listed concurrently on your resume and I was interviewing you it would be a huge red flag.

Good luck

Don't feed the troll, you idiots. Doesn't anyone recognize the username? It's int_josh5 because we kept banning him for being a douche.

Am I going to ban him? Only if one of the newbie mods doesn't do it. Once a troll, always a troll.

It's easy to talk shit and put others down. However,

troll or not, I appreciate those who took me seriously and gave some very valuable feedback. Thanks.

Josh you may live another day. Flee from my sight...And enjoy your 9-5 stint at Wally World.

I was going to ban him but honestly, it's been a while since we've had a good troll bashing. Let them have their fun with him.
