Those of us doing ebay EPN...

Have a few old sites still using bans but traffic went to shit.
I need to do some updating

Luckily I had a couple of sites that hadn't been doing shit, come through and make a few hundred each, which was nice to see, but there's nothing consistent anymore.

Prime example of why the quality click pricing is STILL a complete mystery.

If you're geo targgeting, (and it does make a difference) pull the country programs and see if the clicks/sales came from IE, FR, NL, etc... Those countries are notorious for generating zero rev. If not, ban all countries from epn ads except US and see how that effects your epc.

Shit, I just checked the analytics on that site that's getting clicks but no $$, and out of 25,000 UV's last month, 5000 were from Pakistan, 4000 from India & 1500 from the Philippines. Guess that solves the mystery as why I'm not making shit from all those clicks. The question is, what can I do to profit from those clicks.?
 
when those non epn visitors come in like that, show them a popup banner instead of your site/ebay auctions.

Sign up for a company like adbrite and get into their CPM display program and popup those bitches

Does Amazon/Shopzilla/etc. accept sales from those countries?
 
Just block those countries, plain and simple. They eat your bandwidth and don't help in any way.

A lot of phpBayers block every country in the world that isn't one of their top 3-5 money-making EPN affiliate countries... I personally block every country that doesn't have an EPN affiliate program. (I believe there are 14.)

If you know of a good place to sell that traffic to, you can re-direct it, based upon Geo. I'm still looking for a good place to buy those hits. Any ideas?
 
^Hmm. Some sites would get 2,000 visitors a day or more. Wouldn't POM get tired of hearing about those sites?

Also, would I have to send any more info to pingomatic through that visitor, or just a re-direct alone will do everything I need it to do?
 
little bit of php on single.php or whatever its called to geotarget and switch out if not a country with a ebay program to a greencard offer?? Or considering how much VC funding is pushing coupon sites see if theres an offer Groupon type offer you can push in their countries?

edit: how do you do the country blocking in .hosts to just do a simple redirect to your relevant offer page - probably simpler but that part I dont understand.
 
im noticing when I put phpbay on my site, google pushes it back to like the 400's in ranking, but when I take it off I pop back into my old #3 position on the front page.. anyone else seeing this at all?

Sounds like coincidence. Unless you haven't modified the template at all, I don't think there is any real footprint left by phpbay.

I have a site that has been in #2/2/3 positions for 3 terms ~1M/2.5M/1.75M results for literally 3 years at this point.

Maybe once every 6-9 months I run caffeinated content to blast in some $hit- other than that there is *ZERO* fresh content besides phpbay.

Rankings have been rock solid.
 
I am using the default phpbay listing template ( the 1 by 1 listings under each other ). Its the only thing I havent customized/tweaked about phpbay.

Will change it up and see how it does, right now Im sitting in the 160's this morning now with it on.
