Hi Mike.
Jeez, I am late on this.
CONGRATS!
About the weight, first off... why does everyone need to tell people on this thar intarweb thingamajic feel like telling people to go on a diet?
Following that ... ya gotta loose weight.
Been there myself, done that. Not really hard to do. It is not rocket science, after all. Calories come in, calories are burned, the rest is converted to fat. Easy. Way out? Eat less and/or more healthy, burn more.
A program I can recommend (from fatty to big man) is weight watchers.
No need to laugh here, boys.
Yes, done that with my girlfriend. I lost weight before with loads of training and healthy food, but gained it all back in a sedentary half year working as a programmer - she needed a program to cling to.
So here goes, listen up: :bigear:
It's a very sane schedule, they make you loose weight slowly and without any guilt or whatever. As many males, I avoided the the meetings and just downloaded whatever I could. (No, I never said that.)
Basically it works like this:
You get an amount of points based on gender and weight.
You can eat food according to their list until you reach your daily points.
(Basically calorie counting for the dumb)
Sweets are severely costly, Potatoes (not fries or baked potatoes) are only one point, regardless how many, other fruit and vegetables are 0.
You can also gain points by doing sports. (That's why I always got to eat more..oops, sorry, I meant
MORE)
Every week, all the brownie points earned by either eating less than the allowed daily or by sports are LOST! (So no point in hoarding points, rather treat yourself to a snack once or twice). BUT negative points are also LOST, so no bad feelings if ya didn't make it that week.
When you loose weight, you also loose some of the amount you can eat. But then, you learn how little it actually needs to make you full.
Small excerpt:
("Feeling" full is actually a problem in a fast lived society. You only feel your stomach when you have eaten WAAY to much and it stretches up to the poiint of touching the inner walls of your belly. The feeling of satisfied hunger is a hormonal activity that sets in half an hour AFTER food intake..hormones are slow like that.)
Their computer program is a purple, pink, unusable, hideous piece of shit, but it helps to determine the starting point.
