Seriously, I love arguing about Israel and Palestine. This thread was bound to happen ever since Israel started this latest invasion.

To be honest I think most of you are wrong, especially those who take the extremes (eg. Hamas are so nice and never heart a fly or eg. Israel is about to die under the hail of rockets the evil Gazans send over)

In my opinion, both sides are wrong, which is why it makes for a perfect debate. Okay *claps hands twice* CONTINUE!

The problem is that Israel, and especially Kadima, supports Hamas. If no arabs would be hating on Israel, then there's no real reason for Kadima to exist. So they try to make their lives as miserable as possible, which leads to desperation and minor attacks on israel. And when that happens israel can use that as an excuse to waste ammunition.

The corporations that exports weapons and ammunition obviously love this, since all the money that US taxpayers donate to israel, goes right back to them.

Those types of statements need something to back them up.

Just cause you make some grand claim and you thionk you're on to some big conspiracy doesn't mean you're right. Just like the people who call others "sheeple" after every post, and then they think that that makes them automatically right and smarter than everyone else.

Kadima is a political party. Israelis elected them because they agree with their policy positions. While the general anti-semitism in the region factored into their thinking, it was only one aspect of the multi-layered approach the Israeli electorate took.

How has Hamas governed since then? TERRIBLY. Schools are shit, hospitals are shit, infrastructure is shit, and WHY? Because all Hamas cares about is waging war against Israel. Israel could give a fuck about making their lives 'miserable' - they're just trying to live their lives.

All I see here is a bunch of talk from most people who have no idea what its like to be in the region during a war or conflict or whatever you want to call it.

I know 4 people, all American Jews that have had their lives altered forever thanks to Hamas. One of them is my sister's friend who got shot by an AK-47 weilding gunman while she was in Israel for her first year of college. She lost one of her lungs thanks to that douche. What was her crime? She's Jewish, thats it.

Hamas is a militant terrorist group plain and simple. They ALWAYS use human shields when they fight because its their nature, to fight dirty. For a brief look into how these douches fight, watch the first 10 minutes of the movie "Rules of Engagement". They fight like this in Gaza, in Lebanon, in Iraq and Afghanistan to name a few places. Its nothing new, its how they fight. Fucking assholes.

Hamas has been blowing up school buses and shooting at civilians for a long time now. When they do their rocket attacks they rarely aim because they figure any death is a mission accomplished death, civilian or soldier, just so long as it's a Jew.

Jon, just because Hamas is wrong, doesn't make the Israeli actions right.

Hamas has extremist views (though they are arguably better than the mafia-style politics of Fatah), but the ONLY reason they have any power is because of the way the Palastinian people have been treated over the last 60 years.

Looking at the amount of US taxes pouring into Israel I bet there are elements of the leadership that don't want to end the conflict. More rockets fired = more "anti-terrorist" action = more military aid. (So kind of the US taxpayers to bankroll this isn't it?)

It's time to stop looking at this as two states at war, Palestine is not a country and never will be a functioning soverign state. The world's fourth largest military will never stop the homemade bombs and rockets, as each action drives more and more people towards extremist views.

Instead it should be viewed in the same way as South Africa. This is apartheid - one ethnic group treating another as second class citizens - how is that excusable?
 
Jon, unfortunately the way you talk takes away any creditability your argument may have. while I don't agree with what Hamas is doing, I can't blame them for wanting their land, their home and their country back. love it or hate it, the fact is Israel has occupied Palestinians territory. until they get back what is theirs, they will fight. you want to call them terrorist? Jihadists? extremists? whatever floats your boat.
