I dl'd the app and checked it out, I didnt see an alternative way to join w/o signing into FB so that is a little bit intrusive/nazi..

There were lots of shitty social networks before Facebook that failed.

There were lots of shitty search engines before Google that failed.

There were lots of shitty photo editing sites before Instagram that failed.

There were lots of shitty storage sites before Dropbox that failed.

That is the major hesitation that I, and I'm sure most of their initial users have.

They are very smart though, they make it explicitly clear that The relationship with Facebook is a one-way street. they just use it to scrape information and make the experience more accountable. Nothing is ever shared back with Facebook.

PS if the developers happen To stumble across this thread you can use that for free. A quick interstitial with a graphic of a one-way street explaining they don't share anything with Facebook will probably reduce the balk rate on registration significantly.

I think the problem that many still have with the Facebook Login ONLY-model, is that Facebook changes their settings up so much these days, it can still be seen as a "risky" association.

I have one girl on my FB feed that has been bitching about the fact that Match.com is telling all of her friends that she "Likes" them: "Does my computer have a virus or someting, for the record I never Liked Match.com!" etc...
