The Audi R8

I REALLY want a Phantom but It will be a few more deals till I get to that level. 2 friends have them and out of all the cars I have driven they are definitely the best looking cars on the road.

In Glasgow there are 3 - 4 SLRS and most people who know nothing about cars seem to think they are body kitted SLs with a big bore exhaust.
 


I had an A4 and I traded it in after 12 months for a massive loss, because it was such a piece of shit and no one wants to buy them (dime a dozen cars)

I hate Audi.

The A-class blows, that's why. The S-class is/was a different story.
 
That R8 is a bad boy ... saw it for the first time a couple of months ago in RR. Shame I don't spend money on cars any more, because they sure do make some sweet fucking rides these days.

I've been thinking about joining a fractional club*... great concept to apply to exotic cars. I've always been amazed at the number of cherry condition exotics one can find for sale with basically zero miles on them (say, five years old and <10,000 miles for 40% the cost of a new one ... mind-boggling) Fractional ownership is a good fit for that market.

Thinking about it... as I'll never have the Bugatti Veyron that I really want. Test drove it last week. Thinking about it...
 
sweet car - if you are thinking of one - hold out for the v10 version -

and yeah - audi is making some really nice stuff these days - and has been for awhile - just now getting the notice.

I enjoy driving my S8 into the day job every day . . . makes the commute so much better

. . .and they are killer in the snow

I love passing the MBZ trying to get up the hill with 1/2" snow on the ground .. .
 
And btw . . . there's an 18 month waiting list for an MSRP one . .. so expect to pay a bit more if you want one _now_.

Although it sounds like that may not be a problem for jon.
 
I'm not normally a fan of Audi, but the R8 is very nice. Saw one in Zurich August of last year and its styling stands out among the super cars.
 
I don't like it. It's ugly. Black and white does not mesh well together and the body shape looks like shit. I'll take a nice classy Jaguar XKR over it anyday. But to each his own.
