@egreenie

None of the above is moveon.org, the huffington post, or msnbc........

those are all .gov sites or conservative leaning publications...

some people will still believe the world is flat no matter what you tell them...

I don't know why I've wasted precious time on such low ROI activities (and I promised I'd avoid the WF magic-economics idiocy), but enough is enough already.

If people would allow themselves not to be victims of the illogical (ex. 2+2= 5.5) sophism that they hear on the Rush Limbaugh show, god knows we could all be happier, make more money and live in peace.....

People You can Never Win an Argument with POPEYE!!!

The man is simply unreasonable on so many levels. I remember the shit coming out of his arse, when OBAMA was starting his historic climb to the Presidency.

I remember Lazzy Hippy, Subigo and some of the more sensible souls in WF taking him on then, and guess what, nearly a year later nothing has changed.

Still making the same bigoted generalisations I see...

Rag head, Nigger, Honky... say what the fuck you like man - (delusions of) free speech and all that... but your choice of deliberately offensive language says a lot about you.

Why even justify him with a response? He's acts like fucking 5 year old kid except significantly less intelligent and with worse debating skills.

Actually I'm sorry, that comparison is unfair to 5 year olds.

Here, this is every post you've ever read from Popeye

"Liberal, commie, fag, pussy, socialism, rag head, hippy obama sheep"

I would have thought that more people here at WF would be in support of lower taxes and less government, seeing that y'all are supposed to be such ballers. I'm guessing you aren't minding what's going on because, in truth, you're not making enough $ to care about the govt taking a bigger chunk of it.

I watch TV and I see these tea party protesters and I think to myself that I pay more in taxes than many of these people earn in a year and they are the ones that are so pissed off.

Please explain to me why the wealthy in this country overwhelmingly voted for someone who they knew was going to raise their taxes and why the richest of the rich (like Warren Buffet mentioned earlier) also support him.

Your argument makes no fucking sense.

I'm an agorist. I have no interest in the "tea bagging parties", especially since so many big government socialist Republicans are trying to co-opt it for attention/political benefit.
Have you ever read Rothbard's letters to Konkin?

Being involved with politics at all is a net negative for freedom.
I'll agree with that.

LOL..OH MY GOD! I said raghead! yet you fuckin sick ass ignorant, poor ass liberals can slander christians all day long?!?!!?!?!? FUCK YOU!!
When you talk about mass murdering ragheads, you're not a Christian. You're a piece of human filth. Jesus never killed anyone, and he would have expected you to give your life before you took the life of another person.

It's idiots like you that make all Christians look bad, because you bleat about morality and the right to life, then you carpet bomb some civilians and laugh about killing ragheads. And no one buys it anymore, because you're a hypocrite, and questionably subhuman with your morals.

I would have thought peeps here would have been more open to the concept of tax protests... kinda disappointed by what I see in this thread so far...
You're a lot cooler than I thought you were. Which probably says more about me than you. lol

Do you even think about what you are writing before you write it?

I keep seeing this retarded argument, and it makes no sense. So, what you are saying is:

1. Obama is bad for his spending, but Bush did it, so it's ok if Obama does it. Um, can you see the problem here?

If it wasn't ok for Bush, then PLEASE tell me how it magically becomes alright for President Buckethead to triple the spending that Bush did?
He didn't say that. He said the opposite of that.

And Newt sucks.

Woah this thread went off the fucking rails.

Here's my thinking on the original point:

1. Voting for Dems and Repubs is leading us straight to begging for food in bread lines. yeah yeah...maybe not tomorrow, but it's the path taken by other socialist, fascist, and communist nations that DID end up in bread lines.

2. Yeah, the government/IRS can fuck any one of us. But if enough people (5-10%?) start fighting with the government over every penny - the bitches will get in line and start acting like they work for us again.

=============

Someone above said 'fuck the tea parties' cuz they didn't happen during Bush -- I say fuck the republicans. They got us AT LEAST 50% to where we are and have not one fucking answer to get us out.

Repubs and Dems are bought and sold by big business. If we don't figure out a way to reduce the size of gov't, nothing is going to get better. As long as gov't has the power and the money, it will be controlled by power hungry meglomaniacs.

I'm also amazed by the number of liberals (or people who think they are liberals) in our industry. We all collectively complain about vague government regulations that may or may not be enforced, but could you imagine regulations like a Sarbanes-Oxley equilvalent (financial industry--google it) being put on us? Regulations where we literally have to log and report everything we do to the government? It would cripple most big affiliates.

On top of that, most of us are small businesses, running as LLC's or s-corp's, and some of us hiring employees. As it stands, small businesses are set to get fucked over.

Also, no one seems to be following/caring about the NY (and now) California "Amazon" tax, which directly screws affiliates, claiming we give businesses a precense in the state we reside in. (Amazon has no precense in CT, but according to the NY Amazon tax, NY views Amazon has having a physical precense in CT because I may have used an affiliate jumplink to trigger a sale).

I guess as long as you can keep getting up your flogs that's all that matters right?

Yeah, Obama is bad on taxes and spending, but at worst he is simply continuing the trend and policies of GWB years. Where were all the tea parties the last 8 years?

Use your head a little bit.

If GWB was still in office right now their would still be the tea parties because the bad transitions happened between administrations.

You have to remember we wheren't in a recession for most those 8 years (at least what the administration would claim). The administration came out and finally said we where later in the year, last year. Adding together mounting job losses, failing economy, Obama's endless pockets of cash he's making it rain with, and you'll get tea parties. Things just wheren't bad enough under GWB to get the ball rolling.

I would have thought peeps here would have been more open to the concept of tax protests... kinda disappointed by what I see in this thread so far...

it's fucking disgusting that the repubs are trying to hijack it... originally the tea parties were meant to be a non-partisan protest of taxes and big government spending, waste, bailouts, etc... those are things that need to be protested and reformed...

it's sad to see that some of you are too stupid to realize that the republican involvement in this is just political pandering and are allowing it to overshadow the real issues and core reasons for the protests in the first place...

the fact is both the republicans and democrats are equally responsible for the mess we're in, they both voted for the bailouts and some people are starting to wake up to that fact that they're all rotten bastards and are sick of it... yeah, maybe it would have been good if people could have started to wake up during Bush's 8 years, or even before then, but better late than never... maybe the "too big to fail" bullshit was the straw that broke the camel's back... time will tell...

Well put.

It kinda reminds me of all the people that are for smoking bans and taxes everywhere. Once that cash cow is sucked dry, watch out, they may be coming for your vice.

Blech...
The most awesome part about the protests was that it crossed partisan lines..it wasn't just one party or the other...it was people from both sides saying enough is enough :-)

Sums it all up

Congrats on misspelling the same word 3 times in 2 sentences.

To your other point, a lot of people care about the "Amazon" tax and / or government regulation in the industry. It has nothing to do with their political views. I'm glad you see the world as black / white and big government vs no government.

Guess my Firefox red squiggly wasn't working. Never did like that word.

How is not wanting excessive regulation seeing the world as black or white? I didn't say 100% regulation OR 0%. I said our industry could end up getting slapped with a Sarbanes-Oxley down the road. Perfectly legitimate concern.

Popeye has it right!!

Popeye, you keep on telling it like it is! You make more sense than 3/4 of the kids on this forum.

You do know that some of us here are actually motivated by more than just the number of zeroes after the number in our bank account?
There is such a thing as altruism, and compassion for a fellow man... But all those "good christians" out there seem to forget all about that shit. Especially when it comes to blowing the shit out of "ragheads" (plenty of whom actually happen to be Christian themselves... Arab != muslim)

You're altruistic with other peoples money.

Ayn Rand proved that altruism is incoherent. You cannot place the interest of others above your own. It is logically impossible.

Of course, if one is an illogical socialist, then it probably makes a lot of sense.
