Superwoman

Wow that didn't turn out at all like I thought it was going to end. What a great story. My mom is a colon cancer survivor. 20 years now and this last colonoscopy (she gets one ever year) was the first time there were no pollups, she was ecstatic.

What a great opportunity to realize that every moment you have together is so precious. (sorry to sound cheesy but this stuff makes you think about it.)

Man, that's really good news. I obviously don't know your mom, but she looks like a nice lady and she's obviously got some serious will.

On the flip side, I lost 3 family members in the past 18 months to cancer. Two of them were my wife's siblings, and they were 44 & 47..way too young. Her sister died from a rare blood disease called Multiple Myeloma. I was there with her and the family the day she died, at home, a shell of the person she was 6 months prior. I can't imagine what her husband and two girls are going through. Maybe one day they'll find a cure for this shit, because it's not fair for the sick or the living.

Take advantage of this gift you've been given and spoil the hell out of your mom..she's earned it.

Very inspiring. :)

My dad experienced the same thing as well. He needs to went through a chemotherapy because of his cancer, the small and large intestines were affected and need to cut a small portion of those to get the stone..the rest are history..he's now ok..but there are still some complication and still the medication is continues..

From someone who lost his mom to breast cancer at 15 yrs old.. Congrats to you and your family. It's easy to forget that life is short. Enjoy every moment you can with your family.

Awesome Human, very compelling.

Sorry to hear that. Like you said enjoy every moment you can with your family, life is short.

Thanks for sharing, and it's so nice to hear a success story like this.

My dad got stomach cancer a couple of years ago and things looked pretty grim to say the least. Fortunately, he too made a good recovery after tumor removal + chemo.

Incidents like that make you *really* treasure your family and loves ones so much more.

It's good to hear some of the positive stories in this thread.

My mother has terminal cancer. It started in the lungs (smoker for 40 years, yeah, doesn't take a rocket scientist) and is in the blood and all through her body now. The prognosis is not good, even after a lot of chemo/radiation.

Great story and I'm very happy that your mom stood through it.

Cancer is unfortunately becoming more and more common. In January a good friend of our family died from colon cancer, my dad's buddy found out he has lung cancer and another buddy found out he has (I think) bonecancer...

I'm so happy to hear that man. Thanks for sharing your story. It goes to show that whatever the obstacle/situation, it can and will be overcome by a positive mindset and support.

Not to get all hippy on you guys but if you BELIEVE and have faith that you can get or overcome anything, it will happen. That's the power of the mind at work.

Great news man! Stories like this always make my day.
I'm sure she will be even stronger after this.

Thank you to everyone and your well wishes and support :)

Mom says thanks, too. I showed her this thread and she smiled wider than I've seen in quite a while haha.

+ rep your mom.

I'm so happy for you and your family.

My cousin just got the all clear after a double mastectomy and chemo at 30.
