I have protected my web forms from automated spam bots with a few Javascript tricks, but I am still getting some spam. In one case, it's not even possible to get to the form without using a web browser (Javascript window).
This means that some poor idiot is manually browsing the web and submitting spam. What's worse is that it's obvious that these are contact forms and therefore the message will only be seen by me (or support staff if I had them). The ROI, if you will, of doing this has to be very low, if not negative.
