I agree with Blastyourass on this. Before you know it these douchebags are going to ruin this forum.

I vote for LH as well. Even though I hate hippies philosophically, this guy is cool. :)

Hey Blastyourass, you know you can have a mod change your name right? (last time I'll fuck with you about your name, promise :D)

Woo... what the fuck! Why do I get the feeling I'm being railroaded into something! I don't want any more fuckin AIM convos from newbs, who haven't read enough here to realise I'm not the best person to ask about design, SEO, programming.. well, anything really!

Seriously, I wouldn't turn it down - I spend enough time here as it is and would be happy to help more if I can. I'm not going to chase it though and really do think there are people here who have a better understanding of all the issues surrounding trading than I do.

Your comments are a great fuckin ego boost though! Cheers!

I think its high time i added LH on AIM and started bugging him :D

Do I hear WSO section coming? Imagine.. you don't even need to change the name!

Not that anyone cares, but if you start that WSO-type crap, I'm out like a light!! Warrior was one of the first forums I came across when I started. I've only been involved in IM since early April and I have already had enough of there forum and the opt in list and the CONSTANT email barrage from Warrior members.
One guy was so sincere in his emails,"dont believe what you read, dont buy ebooks from everyone, blah,blah,blah..." And now my email box is full of his offers.

I am in total agreement with BYA, this needs to be gotten under control.

I didn't stay there long enough to find out, but from what I understand the WSO shit is about giving a discount to forum members.

Now, while we obviously don't want the warrior type of 'products' being sold here, I've got nothing against sellers giving us a discount or special offer. It seems yoink*gasp* and geekcognito both do that, yet still provide an excellent service.

Hey guys everything is cool but don't make shit where genuine people wont be able to give us good deals you know :)

I agree that things such as landing pages, websites and content articles are in my view perfectly fine. And I should have been a bit clearer about that. However, I was put off by the ebook barrage that goes on over there. Members pushing the next "this will put you over the hump" ebook. That is my problem. I think it is great that there are ppl here who can write articles and do web development.

NEWS NEWS:

Apparently these fucks from dp type in a service they want to sell for example "manual directory submissions" into google and find out webmaster forums where people actually buy these services. They compile a list of these forums, signup and then post their offer there. You can obviously find this out because their first post is always in their sales thread. They rarely visit the forum for anything else and just subscribe to the thread to get notifications whenever someone posts that he is interested in the service. Furthermore, there are only a few ways to tackle this menace:

1. Appoint a mod/guide for Sell Buy Trade section before its too late
2. Give in a basic number of posts + time to be acquired in the forum before posting in the sell/trade section
3. Allowing nobody to sell any "Service Oriented" offers without prior permission.

I personally feel option 3 is gay but its an idea.

Implementing these before its too late will preserve the sanctity of the forum.

Not sure about the prior permission bit. We do need some clear rules though. At the end of the day these guys are trying to sell something, like most of us. It just happens to be that we are their target market.

We just need to make sure that sellers know what is expected of them here and that our standards are above other forums. If we set out clear rules and crack down harshly on anyone who violates them then it should benefit genuine sellers along with all of us potential buyers.

Here is the deal guys, if a known signature spammer, con man or scam artist is promoting some bullshit, ban them and their IP, it is real simple, that is how I deal with all crooks and bullshit artists.

99% of the time, I ban them before they even make a post because I can see them operating from a blacklisted open proxy!

Yup, and we should start out by cleaning the SBT section of the already existing service spammers and filter the scum out...

I suggest we insta ban people signing up just to promote their service.
I can also give you a neat list of people who just signed up to promote their shit..

It is good to see you guys hate self promoting moronic spammers as much as I do, but stamp them out BEFORE they get a foothold, that is the mistake Shawn made at Digital Point, but Shawn never listened to me either, that was one of his biggest mistakes ever and he knows it too !!!

Now we wait for the "reorganization"

On Digital Point there is the good old boys spamming and reputation trading club, that is also Shawn's fault and I told him so on the forum to his face and will again until it is dealt with properly.

Now you guys know why Shawn bans me ???

PS: It is called silencing the truth man.

Ladies and Gentlemen, don't forget that you all have the ability to report posts. If you see something that isn't right, click on the little icon <!> to report it. Then all of the mods see it and it gets taken care of.

We don't need a mod dedicated to policing that section, a guide might be a good idea, but we'll have to see.

Regardless, if you're not comfortable using the "Report Post" icon, PM me and I'll look into it. I'm sure most of the other mods would be cool with you PM'ing them also, but I don't want to speak for everyone.

Last, use common sense when buying and selling on any internet forum. Caveat Emptor, fuckers!

/edit/ if someone wants to write some guidelines for buying and selling on public forums, do so. It probably wouldn't be a bad idea to sticky something like this in that section.
