I'm done about all the arbitrage stuff I can stand for the last two weeks and I have 50 arbi sites paying the rent. Now I want to branch out to direct-to-merchant PPC affiliate stuff. I've got some questions about getting started:

1. The best advice I've seen about arbitrage is JUMP RIGHT IN and test, test, test. Is it that way to go for this? Or should I research the programs pretty thoroughly before picking any?

2. What percentage of programs don't suck for this? Is a good one a rare find or can somebody do well with most of them if they bid and write well?

3. Should I try small campaigns with lots of merchants, or large campaigns with a few?

4. How important is keyword research? Should I spend much time on it, or just go with the obvious?

5. Is there any clear favorite affiliate network for this? CJ? Shareasale? Clickbank? Something else?

6. Is it worth trying finance and other incredibly popular niches? Or is it best to go for less competitive stuff?

I'm at the same stage as you. I want to jump into affiliate marketing pretty hardcore right now. I've got content sites and arbi sites and this feels like the next natural step. But I am kind of clueless and have the same questions as you do.

Well my AdSense earnings this week are at $150/day (thank to God) and I'm very satisfied. I'm ready to reinvest over 50% into this affiliate marketing. I've spent last few days reading some awesome stuff. For example how that guy from Shoemoney made investment of $28k and earned $144k in less than a month by using only AdBrite, MSN Ad center, Overture and Gogole Adwords for advertising and (I guess) only Azoogle for affiliate offers.

Tomorow I'm going to fedex them (Azoogle) my tax info so I can get started with this (whole new world to me).

If any existing affiliate publisher wants to make some serious cash through referring me into the system, post your affiliate links for best CPA agencies out there! I'll join them all.

I am going to find your sites and report them for LCPC on adsblacklist. hah, F U.

yes just jump right in, and expect to fail, because you'll probably fail. No matter how much research you do, you'll most likely fail the first few programs you work with. Only after you get you feet wet with experience, will you get some successes.

2. What percentage of programs don't suck for this? Is a good one a rare find or can somebody do well with most of them if they bid and write well?

The ideal program has high payouts, low ppc amounts, and high search volume...of course..

Also, finding the program if half the battle, you will need to MASTER ppc marketing. School of hard knocks is the best for this.

3. Should I try small campaigns with lots of merchants, or large campaigns with a few?

Knowing that you'll probably fail the first few merchants you promote, start small. Once you get a good handle on what works and what doesn't, then go for the bigger higher paying merchants.

4. How important is keyword research? Should I spend much time on it, or just go with the obvious?

Keyword research is VERY IMPORTANT! But you've got to be smart also. If you're promoting scholarships, don't just target the word scholarship, target scholarship related keywords (fasfa, financial aid...)

5. Is there any clear favorite affiliate network for this? CJ? Shareasale? Clickbank? Something else?

I haven't found a clear favorite. There will always be offers that work well on different networks. Look into azoogle and CPAEmpire.

6. Is it worth trying finance and other incredibly popular niches? Or is it best to go for less competitive stuff?

Again, knowing that you're going to fail when you start out, trying out the finance stuff first will probably leave you disappointed, frustrated, and broke. Try this when you are confident you can conquer these types of niches.

Also, constantly push your affiliate network to up the payouts of your offers. I don't hear about this advice too much on the forums.

Good luck!

Shouldn't it be the other way around? What came first the engaged or chrislinge? :p
I really don't know or care ;)

I browsed some archives from "the early days" of this forum and I was surprised when the conversation were actually pleasant to read. There wasn't any of these "haha, you asshat" guys around. And there were people who actually knew something... that was really weird.

lol dude this is pretty much a MFA forum.. what are you doing here..

Dunno but maybe he's fighting MFA's? :p

I'm against ugly MFAs like most of those on top 30 list. But if someone can make usefull site (quality content) which is made to make money with adsense, then be my guest, I'll still block your ass if you pay low.

Now piss off spammers (topic hijakers), lets do some ppc-to-affiliate work/tests. ok? :xomunch:

pile: how much do you pay for an anonymous interview with someone who may qualify for the top 30?

pile: how much do you pay for an anonymous interview with someone who may qualify for the top 30?

I don't care about interview with top 30 mfa publisher(s) becuase 1) i don't make any money of that site directly (but it did increase my adsense income over 200%), 2) I don't want to motivate my members/visitors to make more of this crap.
I'd personally appreciate to know what kind of scum do you run? (PM me, I'll remain discreet)

With that being said, please stick to this topic as it's very usefull so far.

scum??? hahahahahaha.

how is an affil site any different pal?

damn int'ls.

When some of the biggest hedge funds and blue chips do risk/bond/etc arbitrage... are they scum. STFU you stupid idiot, now im mad @ you.

Azoogle is good, but I recommend joining Shareasale as well. Sure CJ is bigger, but Shareasale has a lower price point for merchants to join... while that means there are some merchants that don't know anything about conversions, there are also some good new merchants in there that you can get seriously good deals with. Also you can get in on the ground floor w/ some new products if you watch carefully.

Link is in my sig - enjoy!
