Sound from plasma

what!!

If my high school memory serves me well:

Sound is made from vibrations. Light does not have friction with anything. No friction = no vibration. No vibrations = no sound.

I call fake! and dumb bitches above...

or maybe noooot

you can call fake all you want, but you're wrong. it's not the light that creates the sound. the high voltage arc vibrates the air to the wavefunction being produced, which creates the sound. plasma is not light. source: my degree in physics

also I should note, these really are only good for upper frequencies, same range as a tweeter - it would take one massive arc to produce a bass sound. though, a plasma speaker does sound a lot more clear than a traditional tweeter when done properly.

Awesome, thanks for sharing. get it now.

damn powerful beam of voltage if its making all that bass.
