Soo.. No one here uses AdSense?

I'm new to the forum & I'm just kind of skimming along here. I notice no one has really mentioned AdSense, why's that?

I just set up my website and in the past 2 days it's gotten ~1000 unique visitors + ~3000 pageviews. AdSense has given me 0.3cents. Is that why? Haha.
 


CPA marketing (the PPC way) can make you hundreds of thousands overnight, but there's risk involved.

With adsense, risk is little to none, but it can give you steady income. And no, you won't get "rich" with adsense unless you have an extremely popular site or hundreds/thousands of not-so-popular sites.

EDIT: Er, I mean the type. CPA/CPC/CPM.

When I was 12 or 13 I put AdSense on my first site to ever get serious traffic.

One day I had 1000 more clicks than any other day which was really weird. I emailed them saying I dunno what's going on but they should probably just not pay me for any of those clicks.

A week later I'm told my account has been banned and I'm not gonna get any of my legitimately earned $1000s.

After repeated emails to the Googs, I still never got a better response than "our system decided to ban your account and there's nothing we can do."

Fuck Google. Yes I still harbor resentment.

I have a site that gets ~60 visitors a day and earns about $1/day consistently.

You're doing something wrong.
 
This is one of the reasons I joined wickedfire... I've been a web designer for 12 years but never pulled off making any money via IM. Now I've been working on mini sites, and a couple other sites.

Finally got some SEO working and a new site is getting me 500, 700, 950 unique visitors over the last three days. I put adsense on and CPALead for a free ebook download. Adsense gave me 0.14, 0.39, 0.48 - CPA gave me 1.28, 1.46, 2.14

I know it's a game of try and adapt. CPA does seem better, but takes a bit more effort. AdSense is depressing at the moment. I had thought of doing the mini-site network thing and try to build up 100 sites or whatever but with my background in design, I think it may be better to build up 25, then 50 slightly higher quality sites and work SEO to drive the traffic.

I guess the biggest question is always how do I get traffic to convert, but the answer can't be straight because that question is a misnomer. The real question is what traffic do I get, and what platform would provide the best conversions. Still requires a lot of trial and error.

And 99% of the people that have done that aren't gonna hand it out like cookies in their kidnap van. That doesn't mean that there's nothing to learn here - it just means we need to discover the right questions to ask. :)

There's this thing called search at the top, that is helpful. It's like a genie that goes out and grants your wishes for information. Here, I'll give you a shortcut: Wickedfire Search: Keyword(s): adsense
 
By putting adsense on your site and working hard for a couple months, you can literally make 1's of dollars.

If you are referring to his story above - the horror is not in the story. Just read his posting and you know why he was banned. He is just not the smartest cookie in the brain pool so to speak.
 
adsence can be very good if used the right way but you're posting in the affiliate marketing section which is the definitely not the right way.

LMAO and who the fuck are you?

Yeah I know why I was banned too, dumbass. Because they don't give a fuck about small volume pubs and they'd rather just ban at the first sign of fraud. It's well documented; there are many AdSense "horror stories" similar to my own.

It's just business and it's likely that the same would happen with other companies, but IMO it's good for noobs to know that they could lose their earnings at any time.

Then again, my story is from '04..so I guess I wasn't quite that young when it happened, but anyway I doubt Google cares more now about the little guy than they did then.

Oh and go fuck yourself. :)
