Site Like this?

hello,

I want to find a list of sites that are hosted on a server. So - i would type the dns, say, ns1.domain.com, and it would show me all sites on that server.

Where can I find a tool like this?

I just want to use it once though... so it has to be free. I've seen this before but dont remember which site it was on.. isn't there a command in shell that I can use too for this?

you can always go into MSN and type in ip:xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx and it will give you the sites they have indexed under that IP address.

If you are using a Unix and/or Linux system, you can go to the command prompt and type:

nslookup www.yahoo.com

and it will spit out:

Non-authoritative answer:
www.yahoo.com canonical name = www.yahoo.akadns.net.
Name: www.yahoo.akadns.net
Address: 209.73.186.238

kind of off topic, but has anybody taken a look at this list of domains that google owns and hosts the google interface on? kind of makes you wonder the reason behind some of those random ass domains.

people just set their domain to point to google's server. Google isn't really hosting them, nor does it own them.

ow, i see. i was wondering how come bolatangkas2.com was hosted there. since bola tangkas is a gambling game in my country.

but, why would they do that? is that some kind of trick?

DOH! didn't even realize that... makes a bit more sense now... just not quite sure why somebody would do that.
