Seriously Yahoo, like WTF?

Be sure to turn off Yahoo partners. That will pretty much get rid of the junk traffic from random fucking parked domains and shit. You edit it at campaign level.

does this actually work? because I switch it off at the campaign level, it still gives me options. So I set the lowest bid possible, set content match to 5%.. and I still get fucking shit traffic. A lot more than 5% it seems.

Click on Campaign settings, and edit "Tactic Settings", turn Content off.

Also under Campaign settings, click on "Network Distribution" and choose "Yahoo! Search (Only)"

After doing that, I only get clicks from search.yahoo.com.

ahhhhhh, ive been doing it wrong. +rep

I've heard of diminishing returns with Yahoo but never doubling spending then going absolutely flat. Something is up, I'd ask for detail / help.

quick update ... i bumped my ad spend back down to $30 per day again, and so far today i've made more in revenue than i did out of any of the 4 days when i was spending double...

sounds like too small of a sample to really be sure.

thats what i thought too, but its fucking strange .. i made at most 2 conversions per day when i bumped up my spend, before i bumped it up i was making 3-4, now its back to normal after lowering it again its fucked up ferreal

this must be new because i gave up on yahoo after i couldnt block non search.yahoo.com traffic unless i manually blocked 500 placements and new arbitrage bullshit came up all the time.

When you up your ad spend are you also bidding higher and getting a higher ad rank? If so, that could be your problem.

I've had campaigns not convert shit in the top 2 positions but when dropped to 4th-5th conversions went through the roof.

Could your increased daily spend be causing ads to appear at a time of day that doesn't convert?

yea it's possible but there are 2 problems with that..

1. w/ higher ad spend, i wasn't even getting conversions at the times they did convert
2. i'd have to be getting awfully lucky to have yahoo show my ads at the best times w/ lower ad spend...

Alright, here's whats happening. I'm assuming that you have Yahoo's search partner enabled. When your daily budget is low, your ad appears on X partner site, but when you increase your budget, your ad starts appearing on other, more volume-more shitter partner sites.

Solution? Work on more keywords.

Are you guys serious? You are providing all these recommendations/solutions and it is BLATANTLY obvious that the original poster has WAY too small of a sample size to go off of. End of thread.

Could also be a possibility that his higher converting keywords just dont have the volume to scale up.

Even if you tried to keep a budget even on all keywords, if one doesnt have volume, your extra budget is going to go the the higher volume but lower quality keywords.

And kind of off topic, you never know how much fluctuation is going to occur on a day to day basis. I have seen $700+ days followed by $45 days with no change in traffic.

Its better to try to guage things on monthly statistics than day to day or week to week. You just have to adjust risk to know when to pull an ad so it doesnt end up costing you too much.
