After reading your post I wouldn't pay you $1.5, let alone $150!
I wasn't having a go at you. Read OP.
You're being paid $2/500 not because you are from a 3rd world country, but because your English is crap.
Gosh! This place is stinking of favoritism!!! I am outta here!!!!
OP~
Jenn charges that much because she's considered akin to an expert in her field. She specializes in small business and public relations. She's had over 10 years of practical experience in and years of specialized coursework in both. She is not a general blogger or content writer who handles multiple topics who suddenly decided she was worth that much. Her rates are set on the scale of professional writers in conjunction with the amount of skill and experience she has. I can also tell you that the bulk of her clients are not DP webmasters.
Yes, the folks on WF are more serious about their business and more knowledgeable about the way things work online than most of the DP crowd. It's a smaller crowd and many of the webmasters have been around for close to a decade or more.
For service providers this means that your potential clients have seen it all and tried it all. They are a rather exacting crew and are sometimes a bit rough around the edges. (Hence the attacks - they are not known for thier patience with new members)
Reading through your original post it does seem you have a solid grasp of the fundamentals of English and certainly enjoy punctuation marks. But what is lacking is the conversational or authoritative tone that a native speaker would have. The flow of the words and thoughts just seems a bit off when read by a native speaker.
Without that style of voice, you'd be hard pressed to find rates higher than a certain tier - at least on this forum. Granted, if you happen to be an expert or have plenty of experience in a high-demand, technical area, such as coding or warez, you might get away with higher rates despite the lack of an authoritative voice because your material has a greater depth of knowledge.
The keys to rates at a professional level:
1. Ability
2. Knowledge and specialization
3. Your marketing capabilities
Also, I wasn't 100% sure of your meaning, but a simple thread on a forum can do everything to enhace or detract from your reputation as a writer. When you provide a service, you're constantly advertising what you do - especially if you want to be taken seriously as an upper tier writer who can demonstrate high ability, experience and professionalism.
Lol @ shitty English.
I like how you think that by being female you are somehow entitled to not be sworn around. And for a proffessional writer you sure like to double up on the ?? and the !! a lot. Get over yourself.
Leave. Now.
prachimehta87, you should work on improving your English so that you can charge more for your work. In the mean time, working for less, you can get lots of experience and develop your skills.
time to learn english bitch
This...
Everything you put in writing is going to be scrutinized since it is your writing services that you are offering the readers here. This means every post you make should be done with the same care and attention to details, like spelling, grammar and punctuation, that you would (or should) give to one of your articles.
InternetAuthor and the other top content providers here always write impeccably. Whether promoting themselves or replying to a boob post they never stop being good writers.
Neither should you.
I can certainly tell you what I don't want. You might want to try taking the above advice as well.
OP, if you can provide a high quality service then you can command a higher price. Do better work, get paid better for it. I much prefer to do two logos a month for $1,000 each instead of 400 logos a month at $5 each like some jokers here.
I want you to suck the shit from my ass while I bust a nut all over your tits :action-smiley-052:
Burn in hell whore.
prachimehta87, I write content as a freelancer. I also edit web content and press releases for an outsourcing company. Things like jumbled turns-of-phrase (which happen ALL THE TIME with non-native speakers), apostrophe abuse (which is a problem even with the natives), and disregard for scannable paragraphs would make you unemployable where I edit.
But these are all little things compared to the fact that you obviously do not care to learn the least little bit about your audience. No matter how well you write, only idiots will hire you more than once if you completely disregard your audience.
In other words: you are an asshat and someone should chop off your arms. Go back to DP.
I don't know why people pay Indians and other non-native speakers more than $2/400.
I wouldn't pay me to write in Farsi for that.
It's immediately obvious when you're reading Engrish. Even people who don't write well themselves have an easy time picking out a non-native writer.
Judging from the English in your posts you'd have to pay me $1 / 100 words just to write for me.
Your english sucks, period. I don't care who your customers are, you write like a retarded 3 year old.
someone's not some one's is it ? I'm not Native that's why I don't write
pretty cool reviews Can I have a 200% discount?
