I'm interested in hearing what people have to say about this.

Has anyone had experience growing or scaling their service based business? If so, any pitfalls or things you'd suggest I keep an eye out for? I have a great service based business online and recently had my own "platform" created to help make managing the business much easier, but even still I feel like there are things I might be leaving out thinking of in terms of growing or making the business better/more efficient.

Any suggestions from people who have done this? Whether it's design services, content creation, etc.? Thanks

Affiliate Network is 100% a service based business. What do you want to know?

We have many systems built both by people and technology.

Pretty much anything you have to do in the business think about how you can first replace with Technology and if you can't do that then build a system for people to follow with checks and balances.

Excellent point, hadn't even thought of that.

That's pretty much what I've done so far--I guess the real thing I'm asking is how to avoid making major mistakes or losing money in the process? i.e. Did you blow money where you didn't have to? Is there anything you would have done differently looking back?

This is starting to sound like a Jonathan Volk interview. :)

If you aren't making mistakes, you aren't innovating. Don't try to avoid failure, try to achieve success.

following what Smax said, you for sure need to have technology in place for things that can be automated or done faster/easier with technology.

If all your shit is automated , and I take it you have everything automated . You basically just have to focus on getting more exposure , test and test advertising strategies and keep growing . You might lose here and there but ultimately you learn .

Ok, I get it then. I'm fortunate that I had my own platform made for my service so I can have workers login and do their shit--so that's automated/covered. I guess I'm just trying to be careful. Thanks for the feedback.

while a centralized control panel is helpful, it assumes your workers are at 100% efficiency and accountability. Use automation wherever possible, trust me...computers don't flake out

Ok I think I know what you mean--and I think I've got most of that completed. For example I've automated things like emailing/order completion notices, download link creation/etc. is all automated. The only things I haven't automated really is the work that absolutely requires a human--so I think I'm good then.
