He was already imprisoned for 10 years, as well. Hardly eye-for-an-eye.
 
Such ‘eye for eye’ punishments are rarely carried out in Saudi Arabia, and Saudi reformists are infuriated when such sentences are passed.

The victim can ask for blood money instead - $270,000 in this case. I'm surprised there hasn't been a kickstarter about it.

What's fucking disgraceful is that our government (as in Britain's - dunno about the US) sells weapons to these people. The foreign office is making a fuss about it, but what they should be saying is "carry on with this nonsense, and we'll stop selling you guns and leave you to Iran to deal with".

I know several people who have visited and/or lived in Saudi (some Muslim, some not), and they all report the same thing - in this case, it IS as a bad as the headlines make out, and often worse.
