So I've got my eye on a domain (no crazy keyword or anything, it's just the name of my LLC), and when I search for it on godaddy it says it is unavailable. I search the whois and get this:

Code:
No match for "******.com" in the registrar database.

Registrar: GODADDY.COM, INC.
Whois Server: whois.godaddy.com
Creation Date: 10-JUN-2009
Updated Date: 22-JUL-2011
Expiration Date: 10-JUN-2011

Nameserver: NS03.DOMAINCONTROL.COM
Nameserver: NS04.DOMAINCONTROL.COM

Registry Status: redemptionPeriod

I've done enough research to know that the "redemption period" is a 30 day grace period after a domain expires when the current owner can renew the domain for a small fee. Then, there is a 5 day "pending deletion" period immediately after.

So if this expired on June 10th, shouldn't it have become available around July 15th?

The generic tld's have an up-to-45 day renewal grace period. 22-JUL-2011 reflects when the delete was issued, which puts it into an up-to-30 day redemption period, after which it goes into an up-to-5-days pendingdelete status. Godaddy pushes it as long as possible for the free advertising and auction/backorder revenue.
