My new Bing Ads account got banned. All I did was, I created a new account and tried to advertise a social followers site (twitter followers, facebook likes, etc). Could it be the reason for ban? (However I see a lot of such sites are being advertised on bing).
Also, I had used a $25 coupon which I and got from Bing (I know the issues with fiver coupons so I just applied and got from Bing's site).

After I saw that they put a hold on my account, I spoke to an agent and verified my CC details, address, phone number, etc yesterday and she seemed to be fine, but today I got the email that my account is closed and the reason can not be revealed.

I have an old account which was associated with a different credit card and address and I have been using it fine. Just wondering what caused the ban of my new account.

Any insights please?

This is the email I got

Dear <My name>,

Thank you for providing additional information. Based on our review, your account xXXXXXX has been closed. For privacy and security reasons, we cannot provide details around your specific account closure, but the most common reasons that require us to close Bing Ads accounts include:

The payment method on file was not authorized by the account owner.
The account was accessed without authorization.
The account is related to an account that was previously closed.
The account was determined to be high-risk to other customers or advertisers, as stated in our Editorial Guidelines.

As described in the Bing Ads Terms and Conditions, we do not need to state a specific reason for account closure. Please know that we have taken this matter seriously and thoroughly investigated the issue. This decision is final, and we consider the issue closed.

Likely a combination of the coupon and a "questionable" site. I'd scrap the coupons altogether and make your first ad promoting some local coffee house, pet store, etc.

And then they make it a pain in the ass to make a new account without switching all your info/billing/proxies. Which get banned without an email and even less reason

Word of advice, never use a coupon with any PPC company. All it does is have them closely monitor your account because coupons are constantly being abused by marketers. Simply not worth saving the $25. From what I heard, getting back on Bing as an advertiser is a bitch.

I've had my account banned, then reinstated, then banned again, and once again reinstated. Bing wants to be like Google with their policies, but they manage to completely fuck that up by being completely retarded about it. In my experience, bidding on trademarked keywords will get your account looked at, and having slop campaigns/landing pages puts you at risk for a ban. Don't be surprised if they hit you up months later with no recollection of why they banned you. They are that worthless. Traffic is good though!
